WOW This Ship is an eye opener from the minute you board. One week is not enough time to visit all. Mardi Gras must be the quietest ship I have ever had the pleasure to sail on.
Fantastic, the ship is the reason to sail not the ports.

Food and Dining
5 out of 5
1st night we dined at the Fahrenheit 555 Stake House. The food service was a little rushed and the food quality met the standards set on other Carnival Ships. The deor is a little different than other Carnival Ships but nice. 2nd night we chose Gucina del Capitano for supper. It being formal night we could order off the main dinning room “lobster” or off the Italian menu. We did both and was satisfied with everything. Something new for the next evening we had to try the Chibang Restaurant. No up charge, use the hub to schedule seating, menu mixes Mexican and Chinese cuisine. I enjoyed the food, and entertainment by the staff. 4th night, Emeril’s Bistro with a little up charge that is truly worth the money. Last specialty restraint I liked is the Guys Pig & Anchor Smoke House on 8 aft. Beer was great had a good porter seldom found on ship, BBQ pork, ribs, chicken etc. hard to beat. Oh! and one of the ice cream stands is next door at the Heroes Lounge and it became a frequent stop. This is also the place to watch the football games. Shak’s Big Chicken deck 16 aft is another of my favorites. Made it for lunch, breakfast and more. Lido market place has changed its on Lido port side the smaller self-serve buffet still exists but in hall between port and starboard multiple little eating options. I didn’t get time to visit all but they include French fry specialties, hot dog & bratwurst stand, multiple omelet stations during breakfast. Next time will go out of my way to visit this for lunch.
Onboard Activities

This ship has some of the most uniques pools and spas. The serenity area is the biggest.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
From the 1st minute on board, I was awestruck with Grand Central atrium. This is what we call open Architecture with many venues along the outer periphery. We were only on board for 7 days and did not have enough time to fully utilize the many restaurants, bars, and venues. Multiple pools and lounge areas for seating and relaxing. Comedy shows galore! held in two different venues, Punchliner Comedy club and Mardi Gras Theater, 5-6 shows a day. Entertainment across the board was very good.

Cabin / Stateroom

The room looks a little smaller comparing it to other Carnival Ships. There is more usable space in this room than other balcony rooms. Closets are great, more hanging storage, more shelfs, unique pull-out drawers even one for shoes. Bathroom; every bit as much usable space yet a little smaller. Shower door makes a lot of difference. The two shelves on wall and storage space below provide plenty of room for toiletries. AC delivery comes out above the bed facing the opposite wall much appreciated by DW who doesn’t like a breeze. The couch that converts to a single bed for additional guest is two deep for comfortable seating but functions well for quick place to set for short time. The cabinet space is laid out well. Underneath is a seat that will convert into a table to use in front of the couch. There are 3 undercounter drawers, and a refrigerator that works good. Now we come to the sliding doors accessing the balcony. Great easy to open and large handle that interfaces with the AC. Nothing difficult to understand, picture above it explains that if door is left open the AC will shut off. The curtains pull past the doorjamb having a good light darkening affect. Balcony is different, the rail that use to be teak wood is now plastic with an inward slant and it is about 1”-2” taller than previous rails. The chairs and table were the new fashion and worked well in the space provided.
Appreciate your well written detailed review. Sounds like you could do nothing but eat. Thanks for the specific information on the cabin. Glad you enjoyed your cruise!
