Review summary
This was a casino cruise and I understand that the ship has a limit's due to it's size and age. With that being said I think RCCL should stop some of the cutbacks on their top tier levels. I heard many times how they are now neck and neck with a competitor that I will not mention. We have two more cruises booked on RCCL then we have two cruises booked on a competitor. They are forcing us to look for the old RCCL cruise experience.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Small ship so cruise terminal was understaffed for Diamond Plus
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Diamond Plus breakfast was cold two days in a row. We where told by other passengers that the regular dining room was not a better choice. Informed the maître'd on each occasion and on the third day we received a hot breakfast. Cappuccino machine on deck three in the Diamond dining room was out of order and same on deck four.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Main activity was the casino and they deserve a five star rating. They seem to understand that it is a service industry.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Guest performers as well as production shows where very good.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Our evening wait staff deserves five stars but my rating was lowered because of the dining room in the morning.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
The ship is an old ship with no balcony cabins and a tween deck that is unusual to say the least. The public restrooms where out of toilet paper twice and walking into the men's room one day there was a flood but still being used. Disgusting.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
cabin 9558 was roomy and well maintained. Our cabin steward was on spot and we have changed our cabin on an upcoming cruise hoping that we have him again. This is an old ship but it was maintained.
Ship tip
If you are looking for the Royal Caribbean experience I do not suggest this ship. If you are looking for an easy laid back cruise this might be the cruise for you.
