Ship: Majesty of the Seas

Cabin number: 3506

Review summary

For the cost of the vacation. I expected higher quality of the cabin, and better organization. I will think twice about cruises for future vacations.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Seamless

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was well prepared and plentiful

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Activities were mediocre and tended to overlap with excursions and meals

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Due to errors on the app, it was difficult to catch many of the live bands

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The wait staff , room stewards were outstanding. Most other crew were friendly and helpful. Guest services, however was misinformed, not overly helpful, and seemed to be annoyed.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
In general the design was ok. Elevators were excruciatingly slow.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Too cramped and poorly designed. Sink drain was broken, insufficient outlets, poor placement of TV made it useless. Fold down berth block safe access to the main bed.

Ship tip

Double check all of the information you get from guest relations, much of it will be incorrect.

Ports of call

Key West, Florida

Did the dolphin/snorting excursion. Highly recommended. Would have liked to have more time to explore.

HAVANA, CUBA

3 out of 5
Visited the synagogues. Very interesting and educational. Organization was rocky at onse . Lots of misinformation. Was not aware that ATMs were going to be shut down before we got to port, so lacked sufficient cash to do much else.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Better than expected

Just what exactly were you snorting on that excursion?

Good heads up on Americans trying to bank in Cuba. US banks cannot provide services in Cuba due to dumb US embargo. Includes US credit and debit cards. When I've been to Cuba on Royal they announced that fact over and over again. And it's noted in The Cruise Compass repeatedly. Beyond that people should do a little bit of homework before going to foreign countries. There is so much information on travel to Cuba on the internet, that such a basics like ATMs should have been known.

When majesty was launched it was kinda state of the art. Times change but if you go to Cuba, it and older and smaller Empress is only option on RC. As far as missed shiw, you obviously did not get or read daily compass flyer which lists all activities that day. I would never depend on a app for that.
