Review summary
A nice vacation but far from the best cruise we have been on.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
It almost felt like Wal Mart. They had more check in windows closed than open so the line was long. On top of that due to ship maintenance our departure was delayed several hours.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Our meals in the main dining room were outstanding as was the service. The food in other locations was good as well with lots of variety.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We loved the pools and pool games, but since this is an older/smaller boat the crowd makes it tough to get much space in the pool or around it.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Great shows in the evenings in the main area. We didn't attend any of the stage shows.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
The main dining room staff set the bar for everyone else. The general staff was somewhat rude and not very helpful.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
To be an older ship it was very well maintained and clean.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We had never gotten a cabin with a window and it was well worth it. It offered extra space and the view was nice.
Ship tip
The Viking Crown Lounge is an awesome place to watch the sunset or just relax. Never many people there.
Love Key West. We did a snorkel excursion but it didn't offer much to see. It would have been nice to have been able to stay in port at Key West to enjoy the Sunset Festival.
Quite an interesting city. Lots of poverty and a dirty city. It was obvious the lack of initiative that the residents have under the communist rule. The excursion we chose got cancelled so we did the Best of Havana with Hemingway. It was interesting, but a long day. And it seemed it wasn't real well planned out with regard to the stops, etc. We also did the Tropicana and the show was amazing.
