Great time, great people! Well worth it to experience Havana.
Embarkation

Lines moved quickly and everyone was very friendly and helpful. On the ship in 25 minutes!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Food in the MDR was good, not great - I would suggest staying away from seafood items as they were overcooked all 3 nights. Duck, Lamb and steak were excellent.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Pretty typical RC onboard activities. Although not many activities onboard while in Havana, most who left the ship had excursions that lasted 5-9 hours, so there weren't many people onboard anyway. On sea day there was plenty to do!
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Comedian was very good for both the family and adult show. Headliner I have seen before and his material was the same, so I was disappointed. I only went to one show, Boogle Nights, and it was very good. Both the singers and dancers did a great job and it was very entertaining.

Service and Staff
5 out of 5
I have been on 10 total cruises, most of them with RC. The MDR service on Majesty was some of the best service I have ever had on any ship!! Highly recommend Table 434 with Jay and Samir, they are the best!! Bar staff at Schooner was also excellent. Everyone that we dealt with, with the exception of the bar staff in Boleros, was incredibly friendly, professional and helpful. They always greeted us with a smile and you could tell they were loving what they do...many of the crew is working on multiple contracts on Majesty and they love it! The bar staff at Boleros was the only exception, they were unfriendly and rude on day 1 and honestly because of that, I never went back to Boleros again. None of them smiled, were helpful and all acted like they could care less if they served you or not; they would have rather been anywhere else! Other than that my service & the crew were exceptional!
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
This ship is older and yes she shows here age in some areas, but all in all she is clean and well maintained. My only complaint is the layout of the ship - it is SO confusing. Not all decks go all the way through from forward to aft; elevators in the center of the ship only go to odd number decks and then only up to deck 7! If you want to get from forward to aft you have to go outside and walk around the ship (which is not that bad as to walk the entire ship it is .4 miles), but when they are doing maintenance and have parts of the outside deck closed, it can be a challenge. Sorrentos and the deli are on deck 12, not 5 like most other ships!
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
While small, Cabin 3102 was clean and functional. Luis our cabin attendant did a great job keeping it clean and taking good care of us. We actually separated the beds to create a walkway between the two, which gave us more room to maneuver in the room! Plenty of storage space. Suggest bringing a multi port USB charger as there are only 2 outlets located on the desk and that area can get cluttered up. We had a 6 outlet USB charger and had no problems charging phones & iPad's! Also bring magnetic hooks, all of the walls are metal and you can stick to the walls to hang hats, your keycards, towels, wet bathing suits, etc from them.
Ship tip
Board as early as you can and walk the ship, as it really is very confusing. Take a picture of the deck plan and have with you to reference, as you will get turned around really easily!
Our ship was at the Navy dock, so we had to be shuttled in and out of the port. The ship arrived into port an hour early and was able to stay an hour late; which was great unless you had a shore excursion scheduled for 9am. You had to stay on the ship as you couldn't just get off the ship and wander around then meet your excursion since you were on an active military base. So we were stuck on the ship until it was time to meet our excursion. After our excursion we were able to spend a few more hours in port and walk to everything we wanted to see! It was hot, so make sure you take lots of water with you! The crew were on the dock handing out cold towels as you came back onboard - great touch!!
The reason we picked this sailing and it did not disappoint. So much history in Havana. We were through immigration in about 20 minutes and had money exchanged in another 10. Go to the Havana Q&A session, or watch it on tv, on the ship before arriving in Havana - it is very helpful. The only thing I would say that is incorrect, they will tell you that it is 13% to convert your USD to CUC and then 13% to convert back to USD - this was not the case. It was 13% to covert from USD to CUC and then 3% to covert back from CUC to USD. Also if you take a RC excursion be prepared to be bombarded with locals trying to get you to buy things from them or take pictures with them for a fee. They will follow you around the first square and are very pushy, which was very disappointing. Friends who took a 3rd party excursion did not experience the samething, nor did we experience it when we went back out on our own - it was only when you were with the large RC group with the tour guide holding up the big RC group # sign. After our excursion we walked around on our own and did our own exploring; never felt unsafe and honestly everyone was very friendly. We ate lunch at a little cafe and had a wonderful meal and a couple of drinks...total cost for 2 people $20 CUC! I highly recommend doing a 3rd party excursion as everyone I talked to that did one had a much better experience than we did on our RC Walk with Hemmingway excursion. Bring toilet paper or tissue and hand sanitizer as most of the bathrooms don't have one or the other or both! The locals will accept USD in small denominations. Some bathrooms cost $1 to use and they accepted USD! Getting back on the ship at 6pm was a long wait and the terminal has no a/c so it was very hot. RC crew were on the gangway with water and cold towels which was very welcomed after standing in line for 20+ minutes in the hot, stuffy terminal building. I'm already looking to book an overnight to Havana in 2019!
