Can't wait to go back! I already have another cruise scheduled for October 2018 on Enchantment of the Seas, only because Majesty will be cruising out of Tampa during that time period. However, I would gladly hop right back on Majesty tomorrow! She's a fantastic ship!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
From the parking to security, everything was easy and quick to navigate. Upon arrival, given the large number of people in line, I expected to wait for awhile. However, from the time I entered the terminal until I was on the ship was about 20 minutes. Everyone was friendly with smiles on their faces and genuinely excited for the travelers.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food was exceptional! I ate breakfast and lunch in the Windjammer Café, and the variety of main courses and sides made choosing what to eat difficult - not necessarily a bad problem to have! Dinner in the Starlight Dining Room was wonderful, and the short ribs I had on the first night of sailing was one of the best dishes I have ever had anywhere.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
While I didn't partake in many onboard physical activities (besides walking up several flights of stairs everyday for exercise), there was plenty for people of all ages to participate in. Rock climbing wall, sports court with table tennis, basketball, and shuffleboard, pools, kids splash zone, whirlpools, fitness center, etc. - there were so many things for travelers to do that no one place ever felt crowded. I played Bingo and trivia and really enjoyed that interaction with other guests and staff.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Unfortunately, the stage shows conflicted with my scheduled dinner time (830P), but I am hopeful to experience the stage shows during my next cruise. I enjoyed the live music and DJs on the outside decks. It added to the ambiance.
Children's Programs
I did not travel with children.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Every staff member I encountered on Majesty was friendly, helpful, pleasant, and ready to serve the passengers in an effort to make their experiences as enjoyable as possible. Reynaldo and Lokhai in the Starlight Dining Room treated me like a queen and, considering I was traveling alone, they made extra certain I had everything I needed, even bringing me my favorite sweet tea before I even ordered it. They recognized me and spoke to me by name each and every time they saw me. Rolwyn, my stateroom attendant, took great care of my room. It was always clean, orderly, and I loved the fun towel animals that greeted me each evening when I came in from a fun day at port.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship, although the oldest in the fleet, was very well-maintained. It was clean, in good repair, and I observed staff throughout the cruise cleaning windows, bussing tables, picking up trash, and ensuring the common areas were looking up to par. Because there were so many lounges and common areas, and they were so evenly spread out over the ship, no one place ever felt crowded.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Let's face it. Cabins on cruise ships (for the majority of us) are small. There should be no expectation of anything otherwise. However, my stateroom was big enough for me to sleep and shower in, which is all I needed to use it for. I was too busy having fun on the ship and in port to hang out in the room! It was comfortable, clean, and the water pressure in the shower was AMAZING!!!! I liked having an oceanview room for a couple of reasons. One, I was able to look out onto the gorgeous views of the water. Second, though, if the curtains were open, it made the room feel bigger.
Ship tip
Enjoy every second! While Majesty doesn't have all of the bells and whistles of the new mega ships, she is DELIGHTFUL! I have absolutely no complaints about my trip and have already booked another one!
Because I traveled alone, I had not planned on going into port at Nassau. I had no excursions planned. However, I ventured into the city to do some shopping. There is a large straw market and multiple shops along several blocks within walking distance of the ship (that are all TAX FREE), and the view of Atlantis from the pier is gorgeous. However, unless you're into shopping or you have an excursion planned, there's not much going on otherwise.
I took this cruise specifically to visit this port, and it did not disappoint! Cococay is a tender point, and that is a fun experience in and of itself! Seeing the size of the ship while pulling away in the tender boat is awesome. Cococay is the cutest little place EVER, with brightly colored huts and plenty of activities to partake in. Lunch was free and served buffet style on the island with plenty of options to choose from. Royal Caribbean is renovating part of the island to make way for a new dock and new attractions, but this in no way took away from the experience. There were more than enough beach chairs and again, no one place ever felt crowded. In fact, while exploring the island, there were sections of beach where there was hardly anyone. The water is a color I have never seen before. Clean and clear and the most brilliant turquoise and blue. It looked like a postcard. Can't wait to go back!
Smooth as silk! You have the option of carrying your bags off the ship yourself the day of disembarkation or have them handled by porters. In this case, you have to put your bags outside your room the night before, which is what I did. It was nice to not have to deal with it until I got off the ship. It also allowed me to stay on the ship a little longer to get breakfast or take one last walk around the Lido deck. Luggage pickup and customs was a breeze!
