Review summary

This was my 31st cruise.....most of which were on a Royal Caribbean ship. The vessels are always clean and well maintained. I much prefer the smaller ships ( like the Majesty if the Seas). The crew members are always courteous and accommodating. The dinners in the main dining room were delicious.

The azipod is broken and the ship is still sailing. How does the azipod affect stability? RC has not notified anyone about this mechanical failure.

What kind of leaks? Stateroom bathrooms? Public floor areas wet?

MelCampbell17    6 years ago

Thatā€™s odd that they are being hush, hush. Itā€™s the oldest ship so it needs a lot of fixing up. When i was on it a week ago there were leaks and things that they were fixing then.

Looked everything up for Majesty......looks like dry dock will be from the end of Jan thru mid March then goes back to Port Canaveral until 5/9, which is the 1st trip out of Tampa. I talked to my travel agent and she says RCCL is being very hush hush about the refurbishment!?

MelCampbell17    6 years ago

Yep, will be nice!!

Thank you so I get a freshly remodeled ship. COOL

MelCampbell17    6 years ago

Looks like it changes ports end of May, based on the website.

rshook    6 years ago

We are sailing march 12 out of port Canaveral

MelCampbell17    6 years ago

Awesome! Just double check with Royal Caribbean because people have mentioned that they have received letters that they are either switched to another ship or can go out of Tampa. Just double check. It will all work out!

I booked our cruise and we are leaving out of Orlando so Im excited it will be our 1st trip on RC we have said on Carnival before.

MelCampbell17    6 years ago

I believe so, contact RCCL to find out. On the Majesty of the Seas group on another social media site they were talking about it going out of Tampa after it dry docks. I just got off of it earlier this month and so it doesnā€™t impact me. I would check in with RCCL to confirm all info.

We sail out of Port Canaveral in May 2018

gotjack    6 years ago

Is the ship going to have the Make over before May 2018 thats when we cruise?

MelCampbell17    6 years ago

Its dry docking the 21st I believe and then starting to sail out of Tampa when itā€™s done.

mmerriel    6 years ago

I'm sailing on Majesty on January 15th so not sure how accurate the dry dock info is..

MelCampbell17    6 years ago

Oh, maybe Iā€™m wrong then. Our room attendant said itā€™s dry docking in January and he will be back on in April (he just got off Friday) and he said his time off was longer because itā€™s being renovated.

rshook    6 years ago

Well i hope not for 4 months bc i sail on her in march and its supposed to be out of dry dock then.

MelCampbell17    6 years ago

I know itā€™s dry docking in January for 4 months and they are renovating it. No idea what it will all entail, but it needs major renovations.

We are sailing in August...curious about the renovations too.

oster4    6 years ago

What kind of massive renovation?? Any details??

cyndimom75    6 years ago

Good to know MelCampbell17! We have a ā€œfree cruiseā€ voucher to use and didnā€™t want an inside room for 7 days! We are definitely spoiled after sailing Allure. We will make the best out of the situation

MelCampbell17    6 years ago

Cyndimom75- Majesty is getting ready to undergo a massive renovation. It may be great in May.

Cruise31, have not been on Freedom but would try if destinations were right

cyndimom75    6 years ago

We wanted to go to Cuba in May, but thatā€™s on Majesty!šŸ˜³

MelCampbell17    6 years ago

Freedom is great. If you prefer mega ships, donā€™t sail on Majesty. Itā€™s so small and not nearly as much to do as on the mid size and mega ships.

cruise31    6 years ago

Have you tried the RCCL Freedom of the Seas? More of a mid sized ship...not mega but definitely not small. My FAVORITE ship by far. Have sailed on her 3 times already šŸ¤—

cyndimom75    6 years ago

We love Royal as well, but prefer the mega ships. A little nervous about booking a smaller ship. Afraid will be disappointed.
