Review summary

i was always under the impression that RC cruises were less of a "party" ship, as compared to Carnival. I felt that that was more for the younger people on this cruise. I enjoyed it, but as i mentioned previously, wanted more for the older set.

One show, comedian. One movie, fitness center, walking promenade, reading, relaxing. The comedian was good, however there were children present, as it was early enough in the evening. I thought some of the jokes were not family-friendly.

my favorite part was talking with the many international workers. They were friendly to talk to, i was interested in hearing about their country. Our servers each night in the dining room were excellent....Carlene and Michelle.

Impressed with the hand gels being available everywhere. eased the mind of the possibility of spreading germs

nice beds, comfortable linens, creative towel art, still comfortable even for small area.

Ship tip

There seems to be something for everyone, the only thing i would change is the caliber of the shows. Would have liked them more relevant to the 60-70 yr. old crowd. I felt that the music and pool events were more geared to younger crowd. Music from the 40s, 50s, and 60s would have been nice.

We’ve found RC is a great cruise line who has put more effort into everything they do, making there guests feel more like family instead of just another customer. Carnival needs to give a little more attention to the little details that we all expect, when you go on vacation you expect your dollars to be put to good use and when you feel there not it doesn’t take long for people to switch to a company that just has the bottom line in mind instead of the people that make the trip pleasure full.

I guess Kathy Gifford set the standard back in the day for carnival....but in general the cheaper and shorter the cruise the more the booze flows. Go with the "flow". Also Holland America is a guaranteed mature crowd.
