Review summary

My husband and I can’t wait to go again and explore the ports a little more. My children enjoyed it, but weren’t overly impressed. Overall, we had a nice time.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We had no problems whatsoever. It went quickly and we were able to start enjoying what the ship had to offer. We embarked around 11, our rooms were ready at 1.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was delicious. Wait staff superb. Sometimes it took a while to find a table for five in the cafe, but again, a little patience pays off. The dining room was absolutely divine. Shout out to our servers Imade and Demitry!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
A little lacking for a non-drinking, non-gambling family. Kids loved the pool though! It was never over-crowded.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The shows we attended were great.

Children's Programs

I can’t really leave much of a rating. My children (ages 6 & 11) took one look around the kids club and begged me not to leave them. The children there seemed to be enjoying themselves, playing, talking loudly. However, in my kids eyes, it looked like chaos.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Wait staff superb; room steward excellent. All ship personnel we came across were polite, kind, and extremely helpful.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Majesty of the Seas is an older ship, but very clean and well-maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Small, but we knew it would be. Comfortable, considering the size, and very clean.

Ship tip

I spent the first night seasick, having forgotten to take medication until it was too late. Next time, I’ll take it immediately. That’s my tip. And, relax, calm down, it’s vacation. We ran across some pretty rude people, disrespectful to staff and other cruisers around them. Especially around the elevators. I have a hard time understanding adults pushing, shoving, and grumbling as much as I witnessed. I guess people will be people everywhere they go.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida Did not visit port

After nearly a 12 hour drive the night before boarding, we were just tired. Relaxed at the hotel before boarding.

Nassau, Bahamas Did not visit port

Beautiful lighthouse and port. Kids wanted to swim on ship and we didn’t mind relaxing on the top frack and just enjoying the view.

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island)

5 out of 5
Beautiful!! There was a little more seaweed on the beach than I expected, but it wasn’t overwhelming. The beach wasn’t too crowded and our chairs left alone. The nature trail was amazing. A buffet lunch was served.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
A little patience and understanding go a long way. We had no problems. We sent our luggage out the night before and had no wait or problem claiming it. Our carry on bag was just a backpack. Some around us complained of the wait, of the line, but I believe personality and perspective have a lot to do with that. Most of those complaining were dragging quite a bit of luggage.
