Review summary

Our first cruise. Enjoyed the week, but was a little disappointed overall. This boat, destinations, and experience wasn't as "great" as we had expected, but we did not know exactly what to expect. Royal Caribbean's website is not the most informative website I have been to, lately. They will tell you the schedule of each cruise and take your money. After that, you are on your own.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Fairly simple and easy operation. Check in and walk on board. Lines were not unbearable.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
My wife ate in the main dining room, once. She said it was better than the buffet, but, they did not offer much that my teenage son would enjoy, so, he and I ate at the Windjammer Buffet each meal. The Windjammer was decent, not great. Sometimes things were not cooked properly, other times they were done very well. We got the feeling that we were dealing with the "B" team a few times.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pool was somewhat small and always crowded. The "no diapers" policy was not enforced in the main pool. Forget about the hot tub. The movies at the pool were good and always fun. The "game shows" were fun and entertaining. The "Broadway shows" were somewhat lacking. The comedy shows were funny and good entertainment. Good overall, but had some flaws.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Stage shows were not impressive... okay. The hosts for the game shows, and other forms of entertainment were quite good. The art auctioneer was unprofessional and spoiled.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Decent but again, not magnificent.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Easy to learn your way around. Nice, smaller ship, which we wanted a smaller ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Match box that required you to go outside to have room to change your mind. We had 3 people in this room with 4 single bunks. The 2 larger bunks were just okay, the fold away bunks were like sleeping on a steel slab. Kept clean and well attended by Ruis.

Ship tip

Good ship if you want a small ship (less crowds). If you want great shows and great food, find a different ship.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida Did not visit port

Been to Orlando, done it all before.

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
I thought the people were all very friendly and enjoyed walking around while my wife was shopping. It was a rainy day, so we did not do any excursions. The only big excursion available was "Atlantis". Ridiculously expensive and from what others told us, not worth it.

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island)

3 out of 5
Very long wait in line to get off the boat. Nice beach. Nice day at the beach. Not good if you want to find a place not too crowded at the beach. Would have liked to have the option of going to a part of the beach without the loud music. Just a sit and relax day.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
No problems and seamless.

Have had one cruice with RC, nothing to complain about, OK booking with TA, No problem with contact to local RC office for other booking, excellent service on ship (Seranade of the Seas).
