Review summary
We left Port Canaveral which has never been a problem for us. There was a long line but moved along.
Our cabin 3562 was an outside (porthole) and as expected. Compaired to Royal's larger ships it was dated and nothing to write home about. Our room did not have a safe and we told guest services and our room attendant numerous times and we were told, they knew about it. But nothing was done. Very disappointed that I had to leave important documents and valuables without a safe. The bed was ok not as comfortable as some. The room was clean and in reality that's more important to me than the size and the ammenities.
Food was good and all attendants were fabulous as usual. One thing I noticed was the general staff was not as friendly as on other cruises. On other cruises the staff would smile and greet you, ask how you are, how your day was just in passing in a hallway. It's the little things that make an impression and we noticed the difference on this ship. No one was rude but certainly didn't go out of their way to smile and greet you. Cruise director was very friendly and did stop to chat with us.
We enjoyed Cocoa Cay very much would like to go back again. The excursion to Pearl Island was a bust. Food was dry and tasteless, staff was not friendly. Little to no shade to speak of and snorkeling part we canceled due to rough waters.
Overall we had a good time. I probably won't sail on the Majesty again. I prefer the bigger ships with more to offer. But we needed a vacation that fit our budget and this particular week and Majesty was it.
