Review summary

This is our second cruise,  first being on Carnival Sensation. The check in process was quick and easy.  When we got to our room it  had a stale odor and the bathroom smelled like urine. The toilet jammed 3 times during our trip and we had to call several times each occasion to get them to fix it.  The crew was not personable or engaging,  which would have made all the difference despite it being an older ship.  Just coming off the Carnival cruise in December, we were really bored!!!! However,  we did find ONE GREAT BARTENDER at the pool bar named Lukman.. HE WAS AMAZING!!!!  And although the cruise director wasn't very visible,  when we finally saw him,  HE WAS HILARIOUS!   The Quest and Love and Marriage Shows ARE A MUST SEE!!! Hubby and won the Michael Jackson trivia contest.

Not sure if were gonna give Royal Caribbean another try. Especially because they nickel and dime you and Carnival is TRULY ALL INCLUSIVE! WHAT A DIFFERENCE IN CRUISE LINES!!

Carnival was my first ship... switched to Royal and will never go back. Been in Majesty 4 times no complaints. Not sure about a nickel and dime story, it's a vacation on a cruise ship. I'm grateful I can.

The majesty is the 2nd smallest RC SHIP and one of the very oldest. It had a makeover a year or so ago and it didn't help much. It doesn't offer much in the way of anything lol I'm a Carnival fan but occasionally stray if it's a good deal. I've never been on the huge RC SHIPS but I would imagine that they would have more amenities. I just got off the Empress of the seas a few days ago and it's the smallest ship. The staff was amazing and very friendly and the shows were great. The shower was so small my 4yo grandson could hardly shower comfortably lol

And Carnival, Norwegian, and Royal all offer these.

Steffshaw if you've never cruises before make sure you're aware of gratuities that will be charged at the end of the trip if not prepaid. Internet is extra. They have plenty of dining included but there are some places you can go that are extra. For a good idea of what you might spend money on, go to your cruise planner. Check out drinks, dining, excursions. You don't have to buy anything.

Yes please give examples of the extra expenses. We will take our 1st cruise in 2 weeks and I don't want to get sucked into anything.

Since when is Carnival all inclusive? They have specialty restaurants and a drinks package as well.

I have been on Carnival before, this will be my first time on RC. I have heard about the nickel and dime you from RC.. can you please go into more detail so I know. Thanks a bunch.

I would give one of the larger ships a try with RC, i.e.: Freedom class, Oasis Class...these classes definitely have so much more to offer than the Monarch class which is the class the Majesty is from.... I had the reverse sentiments with Carnival, lol... we went on an older, smaller ship with them for our first cruise with Carnival and felt similarly as you....definitely worth another try with one of their larger ships...good luck...
