Review summary
I was nervous because the marketing for the cruise line made it seem like we wouldn't have the most-expenses-paid perks that come with cruising, food, drinks, entertainment. Only to find out when we boarded that the marketing emails were a bit deceptive. Ex. the email says "buy a coffee and juice beverage package to enjoy unlimited coffee and juice", as a coffee drinker I am panicked that if I don't buy this package I am going to have to forego coffee for 4 days; what the email doesn't tell you is that there is coffee and juice provided at the casual dining buffet every morning, but if you want coffee and juice DELIVERED TO YOUR ROOM every morning, that won't happen unless you pre-purchase the beverage package.
The stateroom itself was neat but not clean. There was a lot of visible dust in the bathroom. When we went through all the personal hygiene bags the first day they were not refilled for the rest of our stay. I also purchased a surprise room decoration for my daughter's birthday, and although we were off ship on the island most of the day, the decoration wasn't done by the time we returned in the afternoon and I had to get my daughter out of the room so that they could come in and decorate.
However the most disconcerting issue for me is that while tidying the room, our things were often moved to a place where we wouldn't think to look for them and I would have to ask where our personal items were. We ultimately did have a neck pillow and a necklace go missing. (The neck pillow was on the baggage put out for disembarking and was not on the baggage when we picked it up.)
There were lots of great activities. My daughter absolutely loved the teen center. The staff were very friendly and courteous in person. Overall the trip was good. However the above-mentioned complications tinged our stay a bit.
