Review summary

I was nervous because the marketing for the cruise line made it seem like we wouldn't have the most-expenses-paid perks that come with cruising, food, drinks, entertainment. Only to find out when we boarded that the marketing emails were a bit deceptive. Ex. the email says "buy a coffee and juice beverage package to enjoy unlimited coffee and juice", as a coffee drinker I am panicked that if I don't buy this package I am going to have to forego coffee for 4 days; what the email doesn't tell you is that there is coffee and juice provided at the casual dining buffet every morning, but if you want coffee and juice DELIVERED TO YOUR ROOM every morning, that won't happen unless you pre-purchase the beverage package.

The stateroom itself was neat but not clean. There was a lot of visible dust in the bathroom. When we went through all the personal hygiene bags the first day they were not refilled for the rest of our stay. I also purchased a surprise room decoration for my daughter's birthday, and although we were off ship on the island most of the day, the decoration wasn't done by the time we returned in the afternoon and I had to get my daughter out of the room so that they could come in and decorate.

However the most disconcerting issue for me is that while tidying the room, our things were often moved to a place where we wouldn't think to look for them and I would have to ask where our personal items were. We ultimately did have a neck pillow and a necklace go missing. (The neck pillow was on the baggage put out for disembarking and was not on the baggage when we picked it up.)

There were lots of great activities. My daughter absolutely loved the teen center. The staff were very friendly and courteous in person. Overall the trip was good. However the above-mentioned complications tinged our stay a bit.

Children's Programs

My daughter participated quite a bit in the teen activities. She really enjoyed them. She is not generally very social with strangers.

Ship Quality

I feel like the stateroom was neat but not clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
As mentioned above, we had complications with cleanliness, supplies being restocked, and our personal belongings being moved around such that we might have missed finding them on our own. Ex. books, jewelry, souvenir cup placed behind the closed cabin curtains.

Ship tip

There are several on-board activities, dining options, and things for kids of ALL ages to do with appropriate supervision.

Ports of call

We felt like there was definitely more time on this excursion than necessary.

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island)

5 out of 5
The beach was beautiful. We really could have used more time on the island.

Don't give much credence to a review by someone whose only activity on here is one cruise/one review. Just doesn't seem legit to me.

I'm glad you had a good trip despite a few complications. I have had good and bad room stewards. luckily our last one was awesome. he never touched any of our stuff. just cleaned around it which was fine with me. I left anything that needed to go, like dirty cups, on the coffee table so he could find them easy.

I was on Majesty twice last year and had a pot of coffee delivered to my room every morning and no extra charge. Coffee is available all the time in the windjammer, not just for breakfast. Yes, juice is only available in the morning. You are making up stories.

You left your neck pillow on top of your suitcase and expected the bag handlers to carry it down stairs, off the ship, through customs, and somehow remember the next morning which of the ten thousand plus bags it should be placed on. You were not supposed to put out pillows; expecting to ever see it again was unrealistic. Rational expectations are essential to enjoy a cruise.
