Review summary
We had a good time on the ship, but this was mainly due to the company of friends we were with.
1 of our 2 Ports of Call was cancelled while we were moored in Nassau, due to "high seas," however we still got underway from Nassau as scheduled and the seas seemed fine, the sun was out, very little wind, etc. We were very disappointed that the visit to Coco Cay was canceled. We decided to purchases two drink packages at almost $200 each mainly because they could be used on Coco Cay. It also did not make any sense that we could not just stay in Nassau an extra day since were already there. It was only a 3 night cruise to the Bahamas, and I know that weather in March is always going to be a gamble, but it did not really seem like the ship tried very hard to either remain in Nassau or make it up to the passengers by discounting the drink package or something for going back to sea just to float around for a day.
Our dining room table waitress Ksenia, was really nice and accommodating. She was from Russia and said she was returning home after the cruise. At the end of the cruise, they give you an envelope to tip someone specific. We placed some cash in the envelope and went to the dining room to find her to give her the envelope. Unfortunately, they said she departed the ship to go home immediately upon pulling back in. It would have been helpful to have received the envelope the day before returning so we could have given it to Ksenia at dinner.
The ship was noticeably older and in need of updating/retiring. We will definitely cruise again, but would specifically avoid sailing on the Majesty of the Seas again due to the ship's age and would likely also avoid March.
