Review summary

The food and service were excellent aboard the ship and the staff onboard the ship were warm and friendly. My stateroom was clean (except for the bathroom), the bed sheets were clean, and everything worked in my stateroom. I would've given this a five star rating but the bathroom in my stateroom was filthy in places. The shower curtain in the bathroom of my stateroom had apparent mold and mildew on it and looked like it needed to be washed or maybe even replaced. The toilet in the bathroom also was not clean as well. It had apparent mildew stains on it and inside it. Otherwise, my cruise went well.

The bathroom toilet had apparent mildew stains on it and the shower curtain had apparent mold and mildew on it. No other design and/or cleanliness problems were noticed onboard the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The service for my cabin was excellent. My bed was made up daily and I received clean towels, wash cloths, and hand towels daily. The bathroom in the cabin was filthy in places. The toilet had mildew stains on and inside it and the shower curtain had mold and mildew stains. The shower curtain looked like it either needed to be cleaned or replaced and the toilet obviously needed to be cleaned.

Ship tip

If you go on Majesty of the Seas, make sure to take along some Bonine or some kind of motion (sea)sickness pills. Almost everybody I talked to got motion (sea) sickness the first night of the cruise. If possible, try to get a room on the lower decks of the ship to minimize the motion (sea) sickness.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island)

Take along swim goggles, a swimming mask, and fins for snorkeling if you have them and you wish to snorkel. They can be expensive if you rent them on Cococay. Also, don't forget the suntan lotion as you can sunburn easily here without it. I used an SPF 30 suntan lotion here and had no problems with sunburns.

Nassau, Bahamas

The residents of Nassau can be pushy at times but not overbearing and chose your shore excursions here wisely. Some of the residents here will try to get as much money as they can from you through the shore excursions here if possible. Also, don't forget to use suntan lotion here as you can sunburn easily without it. I used an SPF 30 suntan lotion here and had no problems with sunburns.
