Review summary

This was our first cruise since the beginning of the pandemic. We can say that any concerns we had regarding the safety measures that would be in place were quickly erased. Everyone, passengers and crew, wore masks indoors on the ship. The excursions were also very safe and required masks. We are so happy to have been a part of this return to cruising.

Embarkation

Princess organized passenger arrival times through the Medallion App. It worked perfectly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The main dining room provided appropriate distance from other passengers. The staff were on top of every need. We had a choice of how quickly we wanted served and it was as we expected. The buffet was manned by many staff. They served based on our choices. We never had to wait very long to get served. Once seated, someone would get our beverages. The Pizza restaurant was delicious. Handmade personal pizzas. The Noodle Bar satisfied our asian cravings. All in all the food service was very well done with safety for all as the most important aspect. My husband caught a Rockfish on his excursion. The fish was taken to the ship and prepared for our dinner that night. It was excellent and a special treat.

Onboard Activities

We walked outside, avoided the gym.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows were excellent. Very talented singers and dancers. We participated in many trivia/games. The entertainment staff were EXCELLENT! Kudos to Cruise Director Kevin, Assistant Cruise Directors Karen, Lauren, Christiann, Ellie, Gianna

Children's Programs

This cruise was only for ages 12 and above, fully vaccinated.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The ship personnel were very helpful and obviously pleased to be back at work. They made me feel as if my requests were no problem. We had a possible "man overboard" at 1:00am. Announcements were made in the staterooms and we eventually had to report to our muster stations in order to verify all passengers and crew. Karen, assistant cruise director, was in charge of ours. She kept a roomful of sleepy, concerned passengers calm and reassured. She was also organized as she directed the crew assigned to our area. We really appreciated the organization and skill that the ship displayed during this time.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The interior of the ship was beautiful and well laid out. Everything was exceptionally clean. My only displeasure was the lack of a walking deck off the the lower floors. I had to pick which side of the ship to walk back and forth on. On one end the walking space was only wide enough for one person. The designated walking track on deck 16 wasn't a full deck loop distance. This is the first ship that didn't have this feature available.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This cabin was very roomy and had lots of storage. The balcony was wonderful. It was large enough for us to sit and enjoy the Alaskan scenery. Due to the pandemic, the room was serviced once each day. Our room steward, Christian, was very attentive to any needs.

Ship tip

Enjoy and be confident that the staff on Majestic Princess will take good care of you.

Disembarkation

It, like so many aspects of this cruise, was organized and well executed.
