such a relaxing cruise

Sail Date: March 05, 2007

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

the Maasdam was just the right size for our cruise. The dining area was beautiful and we were seated with wonderful people and right by a window so each night we could see the sunset.

Pros: the crew aboard was the nicest of any cruise we've gone on (8total)

Cons: our stateroom was under Lido and noisy at night

Recommends Maasdam? Yes!

Roseau, Dominica

Don't Miss: The whale watch was superb. The naturalist on board very informative. It was amazing to see these whales so up close and personal.
Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)
We always enjoy the ship's private island because you aren't bothered on the beach by natives selling their goods.

The beaches here are also beautiful. We took the city bus down to area of high rise hotels (boy are they building this place up). We found it easy to access bathrooms right off the beach at the back of the Holiday Inn. The bus fare for the 2 of us was $5 roundtrip. Can't beat the price.
Curacao
We just took a taxi down to SeaAquarium beach and spent hours there. The sea area is slightly protected by a rocky berm a bit further out so the water at beach front wasn't so rough. There was food and beverages available there and numerous beach chairs. It was a Sunday we were there and the locals start arriving about 12:30-1:00 so you're best bet is to arrive early and get the location on the beach where you want.
