Review summary
We have sailed with Holland America before on the Zuiderdam which visited the Caribbean. That experience was so great that we booked another cruise with HAL, this time on the Maasdam. The expereince was good, but not great as our prior sailing was. The coffee machines in the Lido restaurant were broken for the majority of the sail. The activities, including main seating dinner were always at least 5-10 minutes late. The immigration check was a disaster on Day 6 of the cruise. These were the negatives. The positives were that the wait staff and the room stewards were top drawer. They could not do enough to take care of us. The food, as always on a Holland America cruise, was great. The organization of activies should be better coordinated, but the overall experience was good and would not deter us from booking on Holland America again, although not on this particular ship.Ports of call

Pros: The service from the wait staff
Cons: Activites didn't start on time, always 5-10 minutes late
