Review summary

It was a great 4-night cruise. We had great weather in Halifax and were pleasantly surprised how nice the city was. We did a duck boat tour that was fantastic. Too cold for the pool, or waterslides... The ship is really nice, service was great, food was good. We did Sabor one night and Giovani's another - both were decent as was the MDR as well. Food was what we expected. Plenty to see, and plenty to do. Ship was well run, and in good repair. Very happy this "cheap" cruise went so well. I think it is safe to say that overall, it exceeded our expectations.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Great embarkation at Cape Liberty. Easy parking in the lot just past the garage, quick 5-minute walk. to the terminal. Security could have opend more stations, that took about 20 minutes, but after that it was smooth sailing. After security it was about 10 minutes until we were on the ship!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
MDR nights 1 & 2 were very good. No issued with the new menu, all 4 of us found items we liked.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Always something to do. Things were well staffed, well run.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
While we love Broadway musicals, Saturday Night Fever was a bit if a disappointment - just could have been better. Ice show was great, comedian was OK, It was only a 4night sailing, but they could have used 1 more main theater, like a tribute band. That would have earned 1 more star.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
No issues at all, and several cases of staff going above and beyond. Nothing seemed short staffed, and most of the staff we interacted with took their time with us and provided great service.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Despite hearing some things about Liberty being run down, we did not find that to be true.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Interior Promenade View cabin was great. Such a great deal. We had enough room, decent storage, bed was comfortable, location was convenient. Heard the festivities in the promenade one night, but really didn't bother us at all,

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Put our bags out the night before, and it was easy pick-up at the terminal. They use facial recognition so no need to fumble for passports, just look into the camera and you're on your way. We paid when we parked, so quick 5-minute walk to the car, loaded up and drove away.
