Review summary

Excellent cruise. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to try out a cruise. New Jersey was A LOT easier getting in and out of then the NY pier. The Royal Chocolate Cake is a must try in the dining room as is the french onion soup. Had it two nights in a row it was sooooo good.

Embarkation

No complaints. Parking was a bit of an issue as Bayonne seemed to be running out of space but the staff on the ground was super helpful and the entire process was nice and smooth, just needed some patience

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Dining room and buffet were great. The only downside was there was a 3 hour where the buffet was closed between lunch and dinner and we overheard other cruisers looking for food and not thrilled with the options that were available unless you paid at a specialty place. It would be VERY nice to have a lot more water bottle filling locations. Plenty of people had water bottles and it was tough finding places to fill them.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Bingo was great! The host was funny and attentive.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
All the stage shows were absolutely fantastic! Randy the juggler was amazing. The aerial performance was stunning and the Saturday Night Fever show was broadway level great! Highly recommend catching all of the shows the ship has to offer.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Very attentive and talkative. It was fun to learn where they came from and their life stories.

Cabin / Stateroom

One of the biggest cabins we have ever stayed in. The balcony was fantastic. The bed was wildly comfortable. We would book this room again.

Ship tip

Take the stairs. The elevators can have a LONG wait time.

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

5 out of 5
No problems at the port getting on and off the ship on our cruise. Very easy to get back to the NJ turnpike.

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

5 out of 5
No problems, absolutely perfect. Plenty of transportation options as soon as you got off the ship. You could enjoy a ocean-side walk around the shops and restaurants in the local area.

Disembarkation

super quick and easy. Customs was a breeze with their facial recognition software.

Every Cruise Line has their own hours for their Buffet and when it closes for a certain amount of time they have to clean up and then close off an area so people could eat pretty much one area. There is always a place to eat. I never paid for any of my food that was extra

I was thinking there had to be places to eat that aren't paid venues. When I cruised with Norwegian, they had snacks/ things to eat that are a light meal.

Aren't there other complimentary options during the 3 hour lag time?
