Review summary

Even though we have visited all of these ports previously and have been on this ship before, it was an enjoyable, affordable cruise. Highlights for us included the "In the Air" show, the ice skating show, the comedian Heath Harmison, the poolside activities, the game shows, and just chilling in the hot tub and pool area.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
We arrived at 10:00 and had a 10:30 embarkation time. We went through the line quickly, but then had to wait upstairs until 11:00 before we could get on the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The Windjammer buffet is okay, with lots of choices including hamburgers and hot dogs. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet more than the lunch buffet. Sometimes we ate at Sorrento's Pizza for lunch instead and really enjoyed the pizza. We ate in the main dining for dinner and the food was pretty good and they had lots of choices of appetizers, entrees and desserts each evening.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We hung out in the Solarium's hot tub and pool most of the time. We did go to the main pool to watch the volleyball tournament between staff and guest as well as the sexiest man competition and the belly flop competition. We enjoyed watching these while sitting around the pool area. We also did some trivia and a couple of game shows in the Star Lounge that we enjoyed.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
I love broadway musicals, but I'm not a fan of Saturday Night Fever. The cast were awesome, I just don't like the plot. The comedian, Heath Harmison was awesome and we enjoyed both of his shows. The vocalist was just not our style of music so we left after about 10 minutes of his show. We loved the "In the Air" show and the ice skating show.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward, Doudou, brought us an ice bucket and fresh ice daily and did an excellent job of keeping our room clean. Our waiters in the main dining area also were excellent! Make sure to tip both your waiters and room steward on the last day if they went above and beyond. The cruise director, Katy, was funny and did a great job as did the cruise activities manager.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
All areas were clean and well-maintained. Staff could be seen cleaning the restrooms, hallways, and stairwells regularly.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
We had an interior cabin with the twin beds pushed close together to make it a king size bed. It was difficult to get into bed without climbing in from the bottom as there was little room on the sides to get around the vanity or couch. If you want more room, then leave the twin beds apart. There isn't a lot of storage: just the drawers and small shelves on the vanity and one large open closet with side shelves inside. The life jackets are also take up room in the closet on the floor. There are only 2 US outlets and no USB ports, so bring a cruise approved power strip for your electronics. The refrigerator does not get cold, it is more of an ice chest.

Ship tip

Bring a cruise approved power strip with USB ports for your electronics. There are only 2 US outlets in your room.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

Not my favorite port. The water is muddy. The ports out of Florida are prettier and you get on the ship quicker.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We did a snorkeling tour with Cozumel Cruise Tours https://www.cozumelcruisetours.com/snorkeling-cozumel-el-cielo It was a small group of only 12 snorkelers; we had a wonderful guacamole, chips, and pineapple lunch, and saw sea turtles, starfish, and tropical fish.

George Town, Grand Cayman

4 out of 5
We took a tender boat to George Town and then walked around and did some shopping and had some gelato from a little shop we found. We have done Stingray City in the past and really enjoyed it.

Falmouth, Jamaica

3 out of 5
Jamaica is beautiful, but does not feel safe outside the port area unless you are booked on an excursion. We have done many excursions here in the past, so we stayed in the port area and bought some Blue Mountain Coffee as gifts and then went to Margaritaville and hung out in their pool which is also in the port area.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We did the self-assist and were off the boat with only a short wait.
