We took ten members of our family on this cruise. We chose the Liberty because of our good experience on her on our Feb '22 cruise. This was the first cruise for seven family members. All ten of us had a wonderful experience and would definitely go on another RCL cruise. I suppose that is the best result; that we would all cruise on RCL again!
Embarkation

The process and organization was very good and is to be complimented. It was rather nerve-racking to think our two grandchildren could have tested positive for Covid at the ship. This would mean family coming from three areas of the country would not have been able to cruise. Glad to hear that policy has been changed.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

The My Time Dining experience was excellent. Gladwin and Manish did an incredible job. We ate all dinners together and this was a perfect time to hear about everyone's day.
Onboard Activities

Some family members enjoyed Perfect Storm and Tidal Wave. Spent a lot of time in the pools, hot tubs and splash pads. Also played in the arcade and played ping pong. would have played more ping pong, but the tables were often full with people waiting. We were sorry the Flow Rider wasn't working as we had family members who wanted to try it. The only other thing was that as much as we love reggae music, the music by the pools was so loud some days we could not talk with the person in the next deck chair. We heard this from others much younger that us, so it wasn't just an issue for us "old geezers"!
Entertainment

The Ice Skating show was excellent and fun for all ages.
Service and Staff

Our waiters Gladwin and Manish were fantastic and anticipated our every need. Yuda our cabin steward also did an excellent job meeting our needs. We also loved his Towel Art. Our family members would go from cabin to cabin to see who got what!
We Love Washy-Washy, she is a treasure for RCL and made our days happy!
Ship Quality

The ship was always very clean. The restrooms, show theaters, restaurants, and the Promenade were kept spotless. Given the ship's size, that is an amazing feat in itself!
Cabin / Stateroom

Yuda kept the cabin spic and span. We needed distilled water for medical reasons and he was quick to provide it. Our only concern was we could not hear the announcements in our cabin. The very first afternoon we could hear them, but the rest of the week, it was as if our speaker was turned off. Others told us they were having the same issues. I tried to use the speaker off/on switch and volume controls, but they had no effect. Others tried the same with the same results.
Ship tip
Make reservations early for the Ice Show if you have a larger party like ours (10), because it fills up early. Remember you can unpack and store your luggage in the large space under the bed. Also, we brought six small magnets with hooks to hang up damp clothes and towels, since the walls and ceiling of the cabin are steel. The air conditioner will dry them quickly.
Didn't do anything in Galveston, but board the ship. Didn't like we had to test our grandkids for COVID on Saturday morning before leaving the ship the next day. If positive they would have to quarantine for 24 hours, on the last day. Don't see the point in that.
It was super HOT! We did enjoy the Playa Mia beach day. The resort staff took good care of us. One family member went SCUBA diving and really enjoyed it.
We loved the Iberostar Beach Day! the infinity pool was beautiful. We enjoyed the all inclusive food and drinks, and the swim up bar. the staff was super attentive. There is something magical about standing in knee deep water, eating a plate of Jamaican Jerk Chicken, while watching your grandkids play in the surf looking for shells! It was a wonderful day. Two of our group went on the Run Tasting tour and thoroughly enjoyed that.
The organization to get us off the ship seemed very good. In fact it was better than it was on our last cruise in Feb '22 on the Liberty. The real issue was the elevators. It was a mad house. finding an elevator that wasn't packed and the waiting. We finally squeezed in an "Up" elevator and rode it up and down several times just getting down to the 1st level. Once we got to level one, the process of immigration and customs went very smoothly.
