Review summary

Probably my 10th cruise on the Liberty and it is showing wear and appears to be under-staffed. Will be leaving Galveston this year.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We had a late check-in and by that time most were finished. Quick check-in.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Slow service in the main dining room. Had beef 4 times...two were excellent the other two to tough to eat. Beverage service was slow in some of the bars...only one bartender. Didn't do the Specialty restaurants but do recommend Chops but get the Large Fillet.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Went to all Headliner shows and the Ice Show.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Only one comedian but he was good. Saturday Night Fever was cancelled because of sickness and injury. Rescheduled for 5PM. Guess what...early dining is 5:30 so no show.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
While waiters and helper were great...they were over-tasked and because of that we got slow service. Same thing in the Windjammer. Guess RCCL is also having hiring problems.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
While clean the Liberty is way past due for refurbishing. Was scheduled over a year ago but cancelled because of Covid. Furniture is showing lots of wear and tear.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I really liked this room because it was on the 9th deck, couldn't hear the engines and there was a room immediately to our left. Best cabin steward I have ever had. The sun block shades were worn so you could see small areas of sunlight/moonlight.

Ship tip

If you drink wine you can carry two bottles through check-in. Just ensure they are 750ML bottles.

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
We were the only ship at our dock which made shopping easy but, made the merchants really pester you to shop their stores.

George Town, Grand Cayman

2 out of 5
One of two ships in port. Ferry service was terrible...very slow. It took almost 4 hours before passengers with no numbers could depart.

Falmouth, Jamaica

3 out of 5
Guess we were one of the first ships back to Falmouth. Over half of the stores were closed. Nothing to do at the port but eat/drink...Need To Do An Excursion.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Was slowed this time as the Facial Recognition system wasn't being used.

I think it is a general problem at the moment, that the ships are under-staffed.
