Review summary

This was my husband's and my second cruise and my son's first. It was one of our best family vacations ever. I highly recommend Liberty of the Seas for a family cruise. The staff are amazing and the ship is very clean. The food will not disappoint.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We always arrive to the port early. Security and check-in were a breeze. We were assigned Gold group 4 but were quickly upgraded to Gold group 1. Boarding was a little delayed because of a slower disembarkation fo the cruise before us but we were on the ship by 11:30am.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
MDR was amazing like always. Sorrento's was perfect for light snack in between meals. The Windjammer has a great selection and my picky 11 year old never left hungry. The guacamole making class with margarita tasting was well worth the money. I was very surprised with how much and how tasty the food was in this activity.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There is so much to do on this ship. I think we did a little bit of everything. My husband and son enjoyed hours of table tennis.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
My son was less than 1 month from age 12 at the time and was allowed to move up to the Teen Program after we signed a waiver. They provided great entertainment for him and they all seemed to be properly supervised.

Service and Staff

I didn't see one face that DIDN'T have a smile on it. Everyone is very accommodating.

Ship Quality

I don't know how they do it. It is always so clean!

Cabin / Stateroom

Being an inside cabin it is quite small but that is to be expected. We were actually able to feel the ship movement quite a lot one night. There is quite a bit of hallway traffic around this room but you can only hear people when they are RUNNING up and down the halls. We had 3 people in this room and had one of the pullman beds pulled down for the sailing. We are short so head room wasn't a problem but I can see how it could affect taller people. The room was very well kept with no glaring damage. The only complaint that I have is that it sounded as if the water was constantly running in the bathroom above ours. You could only hear it when in the bathroom but it is not something that I have ever heard before.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

In and out of the terminal is good. Its an industrial port so its not exactly appealing to the eye but I am very happy to have this port within driving distance of my house.

Cozumel, Mexico

We went to Mr. Sanchos. The walk from the terminal to the taxi was very easy. The taxi driver was friendly and quickly got us to our destination. Mr. Sanchos was fantastic. When we were ready to leave we easily found a taxi to get us back to the port.

George Town, Grand Cayman

This is my favorite port out of all ports visited while cruising. The whole island is beautiful! We used Captain Marvin's and went to Stingray island and one other snorkel stop.

Falmouth, Jamaica

Jamaica is a bit sketchy but beautiful! We used Royal for our excursion here as I was warned to that we you really need to be in a group for your safety if leave the port. We went to the Blue Hole with River Tubing and it didn't not disappoint. The drive to and from was a bit long but we knew about this at the time of booking.

Disembarkation

We did self assist and were off the boat well before 8am. Super easy disembarkation.
