Review summary

Royal Caribbean is a great Cruise Line and I highly recommended you take a cruise from them if you have the option. The Liberty of the Seas is a great ship and has a lot to do on your days at sea. The ports of call were great as well. A lot better than I expected. Take your time when picking your excursions and do your research. Pay for everything in advance because it is a lot cheaper online before.

Get "The Key" to avoid the really long lines. We wish we would have. When we received our seapass cards the lady did not explain what the numbers and letters were on them so we had to ask someone else.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining room was fabulous! The food was excellent every night. We even ate breakfast in the main dining room one night and it was very good as well. Wait staff in the dining room was amazing which made our experience so much better. The buffet was WAY better than my past cruise with Princess. Lots of options but I suggest you eat lunch early to avoid the crowds. Pizza was also very good. I just wish that there was another place to get snacks between lunch & dinner.

Sorrento's Pizza

Pizza was excellent. At a piece probably everyday. Lines go by quick and rarely had to wait more than 10 mins.

Great Starbucks coffee. They also have snacks you can get here as well. They change throughout the day.

Main Dining Room

Excellent service and food. Always enjoyable every night. You're waiters definitely make a difference on how enjoyable your experience is. We had amazing waiters who made sure we were always taken care of. I recommend trying breakfast in the dining room at least once.

Onboard Activities

The adult hot tubs were GREAT! We spent quite a lot of time in them. The adult pool was also very nice as well. I really enjoyed the drink service to the pools. I enjoyed the live bands in the pool area and all the music. I did ice skating one day that was ok. It was cool to do but wouldn't do it again. We had to wait in a really long line just to get a ticket and then come back later.

Center Ice Rink

I though it was really cool to go Ice Skating on a cruise ship. Make sure you wait in line to try it at least once.

The adult hot tubs were super cool. The hang on the outside of the ship so they offer a great view. Drink service comes by quite often so you don't ever have to get out.

Ship was beautiful. Lots of new up to date things that make it a great ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

Love the design of the cabin. Layout made it seem really big with lots of space. Shower was very nice as well and not too small. Great size balcony. Very clean and well kept. The bed was also very comfortable as well.

Ship tip

Get a balcony room, way worth it. Get the drink package. Go to the shows, events, and participate in the activities. Check dress up days before packing.

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

Beautiful port. Area right around port felt fairly safe. We did not venture out of of the gated area. We did the Star Fish Sanctuary and Palancar Reef snorkel excursion. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves to snorkel. Breathtaking views and the prettiest water I've ever seen. The tour guides were great and made it for an awesome excursion I wont forget.

George Town, Grand Cayman

There is no docking port at this port of call. You have to tendor in on a boat. Takes a very long time and wastes a lot of valuable time you could be in port. If you get an excursion don't wait for them to call your group to get off the ship. Just go get in line and try to be on the first tendor off the ship. You have to meet at a different tent when you get to the port anyways so it really doesn't make a difference and that way you can spend more time in port. Go see the Stringrays. It was by far one of the coolest experiences by I have ever done. Bring googles because it will help not get salt water in your eyes. They offer an excursion that is the Stringrays and Turtle Centre and I highly suggest booking it early. Very safe port overall.

Falmouth, Jamaica

We did the Good Hope Estate Adventure All Inclusive excursion. It was so much fun. We did ziplining, ATV rides, a bird atrium, ate some amazing Caribbean jerk chicken, and toured the Good Hope House. All the staff was so nice and made sure it was an enjoyable excursion. It rained while we were there so we did not get to do everything on the estate however they have a super cool pool that would have been a lot of fun to use as well.

It was long and they weren't calling the groups so we just had to guess when it was our time to get off the time.
