Review summary

We had a good vacation. Except for the embarkation everything was good.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Galveston RCCL Cruise Terminal is a zoo. Poor directions for embarking passengers.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was pretty good in the buffet and main dining room. The Mexican and Italian restaurants have weird menus and are to be avoided. However, the steak restaurant is uber good. I would kill for another 16oz, bone in rib eye.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
I like watching other people. Is that an activity?

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Good acts and talent. Unfortunately, the Saturday Night Fever show was cancelled due to the injury of the production manager

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Excellent staff.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything seemed clean and well maintaned.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The suite had great space and was very comfortable. Got to rub elbows with "Serial Cruisers" in the Concierge Lounge. Never met anyone before who had been on 50+ cruises.

Ship tip

See if you can figure out embarkation before you hit the cruise terminal in Galveston.

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Been there before. Did a Mexican Cooking excursion. Lots of fun.

George Town, Grand Cayman

4 out of 5
Been there before. Went to a restaurant recommended by a friend. OK

Falmouth, Jamaica

4 out of 5
Been there before. Did a bamboo raft excursion. Very relaxing.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
RCCL got the disembarkatoion right. Easily found our luggage. Was MUCH quicker than expected.

Glad you had a good cruise. Thanks for the great review.

Completely agree. Unless you have been to that cruise terminal before, you have no idea of what is going on. I wish Royal and Carnival would fix that problem.

Agree. Galveston is the worst Royal terminal I have been to. They have more than enough staff. It is simply not well managed at the curb and security. Slowest x-ray operators anywhere. You get the feeling they think the inefficiency is normal.
