Review summary
Overall the trip was fantastic, amazing staff and engaging activities. Here are some small caveats: 1. Activities on the ship are quite old-fashioned. Most of them, if not all, are targeting audiences born in the 60s-70s, which is understandable given that those are the people paying for the family trip. However, this can easily translate to boring nights for young couples and people not travelling with family. It's hard to fit everyone's tastes. For me, I just need to see a bit more effort in entertaining people born in the era of Justin Bieber. 2. Standard dining was just mediocre. We tried all 4 specialty restaurants on the ship and they were AMAZING. However the food we got in the main dining area was pretty mediocre. There were plenty of options, but the quality was not to the standard of a regular restaurant, everything seems to be cooked in mass, the short rib was a huge piece of meat with no flavor, mushroom soup and french onion soup are water-ish. I guess this gives you the reason to pay extra for specialty restaurant - just like a lot of other things on the ship, you have to pay for anything that's slightly better.Embarkation
