Review summary

All in all this is definitely a cruise I would do again, and I would highly recommend the ship.

Embarkation

Quick and Easy. Our check in was drawn out a little because it was our gal's first day but she did fine and we were on our way quickly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
I was please with all the food, although there were some meals better than others. The main dining room didn't have a lot of variety with the appetizers which was disappointing, however their escargot was AMAZING! Lunch in the main dining room was also very good, I loved the salad bar. The buffet food was good and it had a lot of variety, however it was packed most days unless you went super early. Johnny Rockets was ok-not as good as other Johnny Rockets I have been to. We did not try any of the specialty restaurants. I was pleased with the offerings from Sorrento's and Cafe Promenade.

Onboard Activities

The Solarium pool was fun, and we did the water slides but those were better for younger kids as you tend to get stuck in the tubes. It was little hard to stay busy during sea days but we spent a ton of time in the pool. The quest game show (scavenger hunt) for the 18+ crowd was amazingly fun.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
I loved the Elvis show, but was not a fan of Saturday Night Fever

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Some of the best service I have received anywhere. Gina in the main dining room and buffet, Patsy and Angelita in the Casino Bar and room stewards Melwyn and Patrick were all amazing. We also really liked Osbourne in the Solarium pool bar, however he was a little shy. They would honestly be the reason I would do this cruise again! This was my third cruise and I don't remember anyone from my second cruise, that's how much of an impression these people made.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I was impressed with the cleanliness and layout both. The elevators tended to be slow and needed some maintenance but other than that no real issues.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
I liked the size of the room and it had plenty of storage, however the bed was extremely hard and not comfortable at all. It was also a very noisy cabin, lots of hallway noise.

Ship tip

Try everything at least once! Food, games, entertainment were top notch. Also do self assist disembarkation - quick and easy

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

We visited the Offshore Drilling Museum and it was very interesting. We tried to go to Moody Gardens, however it was quite pricey so we skipped it. We ate at the Olympia Grill and the food was great and the desserts were amazing. Hands down the best cheesecake I have had ever!

Cozumel, Mexico

We did a taxi tour of the island and it was fun. We also did a tequila tour and stopped for food at Senor Frogs. A great time!

George Town, Grand Cayman

This was my favorite stop. We took a taxi to Hell, bought souvenirs and got our passports stamped. We then headed to 7 mile beach by Calico Jacks to play and rent jet skis. Fun was had by all and the beach and water were amazing. Never thought a public beach would have been so nice and not crowded. We also had some amazing Jerk Chicken from a little stand where we were sitting.

Falmouth, Jamaica

This was my least favorite stop. We stayed in the port area to shop and most places were fine but some of the vendors were pushy. We ate Spice Kitchen and while the food was ok (not as good as Cayman) the service was lacking and it was very expensive. Taxes were high extremely high here on food and beverage. We went to Margaritaville for drinks afterward and for a group of 5 with one drink each and a plate of calamari was $155.00. We were shocked and the drinks were horrible. The bartender was having a meltdown and we were getting one drink brought to the table at a time so we could not enjoy our drinks together. I would not go back to this port. I will stay on the ship.
