It was an amazing first week on the liberty of the seas. Although the ship is a little dated, the crew and staff more than make up for it with high levels of energy and enthusiasm. One of the most amazing things about Royal Caribbean is that crew always has customer service at the top of their mind. If they have the ability, they will go out of their way to take care of any requests or questions guests have. It’s always amazing to be walking through the decks of the ship and see senior officers engaging with crew members as well as passengers.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Checking in and boarding in Galveston was smooth. I also had a Suite and a shorter line when checking in, so I was able to bypass a longer general boarding line.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The MDR food was good, but I would not say exceptional compared to other RCCL ships. The crew and staff did an amazing job to accommodate special requests for food.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The ship offers a number of activities, from the Flowrider to rock climbing wall to ice skating. The locker rooms contiue to be a work in progress. The men’s lockers were suppose to be replaced with digital locks for 3 weeks. At last I checked, there is no way to lock valuables when at the gym in the men’s locker room.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The In the Air production is amazing. The cast did an incredible job with the Saturday Night Fever and the Encore ice Show had the entire audience involved. Definitely a highlight of the cruise!
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The crew does an amazing job of trying to take care of any questions, issues or special requests they can. Most are very friendly and completely customer service oriented.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship is very clean, but you can tell she is a little older. Some of the technology is slower and a little out dated.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Great cabin with an incredible extended balcony.
