Liberty of the Seas

7 Night Western Caribbean (Galveston Roundtrip)

Sail date: December 24, 2017

Ship: Liberty of the Seas

Cabin type: Inside

Traveled as: Family (older children)

Review summary

It was a huge ship, moving several thousand people, so count on some lines. It is not all inclusive, so count on at least a few hundred dollars extra (including a $13.50 gratuity per person automatically added to your bill every day). The main Buffet is excellent with lots of variety. Service is excellent in the Dining Rooms.

I went to several "seminars" and they were thinly veiled sales pitches. From others I learned not to go to seminars -- what a disappointment! I showed up for "30,000 years of Art" and there was no one there.

Service and Staff

Service was very good, but announcements kept asking for us of recognize that way to often.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Layout was good, floors could have been cleaner.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Very compact and efficient. Our cabin attendant was 5-star! Very clean.

Ship tip

Maps of the ship's layout are posted on walls by the steps -- very helpful as it is otherwise difficult to know if one is in the front or aft of the ship.

Ports of call

Went deep-sea fishing. Excellent choice, but the seas were heavy and most of us got sick.
