To summarize, I love Royal Caribbean but, I won't be going back on the Liberty of the Seas. I was very pleased with the waiters. I wasn't pleased with the itinerary on the ship and I wasn't pleased with the condition and repairs that were needed for the ship.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
It was OK but delayed . The announcement said they were waiting for clearance to starting loading guess onto the ship.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The food was excellent and the service in the Michaelangelo dining room was superb.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
I enjoyed the ice skating. The pools were constantly being closed at peak hours of the day. The bathroom in the fitness area smelled horrible every day (something with the plumbing lines). The daily Compass was not great either. The scheduled activities were catered only to people with interests in casinos and shopping.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The ventriloquist was really good.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
If it wasn't for our waiters in Michaelangelo Dining Room, Shekarsingh and Sunyoto, our experience would not have been good. They really were excellent and I hope to be on a cruise with them in the future, just not on the Liberty of the Seas cruise ship.
Ship Quality
1 out of 5
This ship is old. The decor is old and the condition is terrible shape. I took pictures of my balcony room and have attached them. Mold was in the grout of the shower and the closet door was broken. The ship needs to be remodeled. I will not be going on Liberty of the Seas again. Also, the 1-2 elevators were continuously out of service. And. on Deck 11 near Windjammer they were repairing wooden planks under the rotating doors. I felt like I was on a ship that needed to be completely remodeled.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
Our housekeeping was good. But the condition of the cabin needs to be repaired and remodeled.
Ship tip
Speak with your Spa employees on Liberty of the Seas. On the first day when they give tours they aren't being honest with prices, when discounts expire, and what all is included in the service. I literally was on the table doing my service when the price went up from the flyer they handed to me when I booked the appointment. I was ready to leave when the esthetician spoke to her Manager in order to give me the price that was on the flyer. It isn't necessary to lie just to get people to book appointments. I would have paid the higher price for great services but I don't like being lied to. It really soured my Spa experience and I did not enjoy it or relax after that. The same happened for the couples massage. They showed us the room in the tour with rose petals and promised it to be real romantic for our anniversary massage. When we came back for our appointment all of that was gone and I asked what happened to the room you showed us the first day and the lady said that is just for the tour! My second tip is repair the interior of ship!
The sales people are so PUSHY!!! It is just so annoying. They are always in your face. It makes it not enjoyable. We did the Mayan Ruins Tulum excursion.
I absolutely fell in love with Fallmouth! The port was very nicely laid out. Lots of true authentic shopping. The shops again weren't pushy for you to buy anything.
We chose the self-disembarkation option and took our own luggage. We were able to have breakfast go back to the room get our luggage and quickly get through customs.
When you say that you weren't pleased with the itinerary on the ship did you mean entertainment? We were trying to look at what's available this past weekend (for our October 22 cruise) but couldn't find any details on the RC site.
