Review summary

Overall, this was a good experience.  Very relaxing.  The service was excellent, although the quality of the food was merely average.  (This was our 12th cruise, and so we are comparing this to cruises on other lines including Princess, Cunard, Holland America, and Carnival.).  The entertainment was over-the-top and included an ice show, an R and B show, and a Broadway type show.  The stops were were not so great...Labadie (sp?), Haiti, is classified as a potential malaria location by the Red Cross and so I did not go ashore because it would cause me to be deferred from donating blood products for 12 months.  Falmouth, Jamaica, is an old city that has been added as a stop in the past 5 years.  The city is extremely poor, and so all that you see of the town is passing through on the transportation to wherever you are going on your excursion.  We went to see a plantation that was built in 1755.  That was very interesting, and the guides were very knowledgeable and friendly.  I would still recommend this cruise to anyone looking for a short, relaxing cruise.  The main problem, if there is one, is that this ship is so large that the number of passengers overwhelms the staff at times.  For example, on the day when fish and chips were offered in the pub, they ran out of chips and tartar sauce.  Another example, is the ice show.  After making us wait in line to open the doors, they only had one person checking seapasses.  This caused further delays, aggravation among the passengers, and line jumping.  I said something to the person at the door that he should get some assistance, and I received a flippant answer.
