Review summary
My husband and I had a very specific time to cruise and this ship fit our schedule. We did not pick so much for the ports, although Labadee was GREAT! We've cruised Royal before so we knew what this line was capable of providing ...much rest and relaxation. No loud party guests and very few children. Loved the ship...neat and clean....could find a place anywhere to read and get a fruity drink or glass of wine. A few things stood out for us: -Did not receive the "warm welcome" we typically do when boarded the inside of the boat. We had to walk along the balcony quite to actually enter the boat....and then there was only 1 staff welcoming guests... No drinks and celebration which was disappointing. -The food and staff at Portofino's' was execptional! Worth the extra $. Main dining food good nothing out of the ordinary if you've cruised before. For 1st time cruisers....I'm sure it's a great experience! Not the friendliest staff we've had....they seemed a bit rushed each night. Windjammer food was typical...but again, the staff was not as friendly as we've seen before. Good to have other venues for free food for a change. There was a limit to "outside" seating to eat (breakfast in the sun if you like that type thing). -The entertainment was excellent! Don't miss a night! -Loved Bingo poolside. Allowed me to enjoy without leaving the sun. -Spa services were outstanding as always and the gym was fantastic! Good walking track too! -Wished there had been more music poolside..was disappointed I had to use my IPOD so much. -Would have also like more nightly movies poolside. -No mints at night and only 2 towel pets the whole week...these are signature for Royal...not sure why the changes. We've never cruised a ship more than once...too many to experience, but we would certainly recommend it if you are looking for R&R!Ship experiences
