Review summary
Part of any good cruise experience is great weather and for the first few days of the cruise the weather was much warmer than expected. Felt as if we were in the Caribbean on the Baltic Sea. Cruise lines can't control the weather, but don't make decisions about when to cruise based on average temps, etc.
Spent a great deal of time exploring the shore excursions and booking them well in advance of the cruise date and this was a very wise decision. We enjoyed each of our tours immensely. The guides were excellent. The countries were beautiful even when the weather wasn't quite so nice. Visiting St. Petersburg was not the best experience due to Russian immigration and crowds at the Hermitage but we made the best of it and met some interesting people in the passport control line. After visiting the Hermitage any bad memories of the lines were erased. It is absolutely magnificent. This was our 13th cruise, 5 on Celebrity, 3 on Norweigan, 1 on Carnival, 2 on Princess and 2 on Royal Caribbean. We choose our cruises based on itineary and not the cruise line. I would rate this Royal Caribbean cruise to Scandanavia and Russia number 3 on our list of best cruises for very good food, activities, ports of call and overall service.

Ship tip
Have a drink at the Victory Lounge on the top deck - very relaxing and reflective atmosphere Becomes a dance lounge later in the night but that was a great time on those couple of nights we chose to stick around and dance.
