Jewel OTS 2017

OVERALL: Pretty much what many had written. Embarkation and debarkation fast and efficient.

ENTERTAINMENT: Smaller ship, needs better entertainment shows. While we attended many shows both in Coral theatre and Centrum it was never something that we had or really wanted to see like on the bigger ships with Broadway shows like Rock of Ages or Aqua theatre. Sail away parties are not much especially embarkation port. Disney cruise line does this very well. Captain did take extra time in St Lucia upon leaving to go close to Pitons and do a 360 circle with the ship so that everyone could see and then sailed off to next port. 

RENOVATIONS: are good and the ship is very well maintained for cleanliness. 

SERVICE: Need more bar staff for peak periods, especially pool decks. Food was ok with good variety for all cultures and kids. Was disappointed with bar server pushing for positive review on our last night at Tides restaurant. My Time dining was ok. Lineups can get very busy and long so we would venture to the buffet which served similar main dishes at times. 

VOOM Internet is not stable around ship. Kept having to manually reconnect. Speed was ok as I was able to connect to home tv to stream a hockey game. 

STATEROOMS: Stateroom attendant was good and always friendly. Ship speaker in room does not work even though there is a volume switch (our stateroom 9200) so you can't hear any ship announcements. 

SHOPPING: Ship shops are mostly jewellery like every port. I don't know why everyone thinks cruisers are going to buy diamonds and watches! I always saw more workers onboard and off then shoppers in these shops. 

SUMMARY: Would I go on RCCL again? Yes, but on a bigger ship. Jewel OTS was nice but I wouldn't return to it.
