Review summary

A Panama Canal cruise was on the 'bucket' list for the whole family and we enjoyed it very much! So did the in-laws! A fine range of activities for all different levels of effort and interest. The historian's talks were always entertaining and informative. This is a great-size of ship; we don't really care for the huge, mega-ships. The outdoor movie screen, visible from Lido and Sun decks, is fabulous!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The quality was frankly better in the buffet than in the Bordeaux dining room. Bayou Cafe was quite a treat!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Liked the creative workshops (writing, origami, journal, etc). Dance shows and kitchen demos were top-notch. Hypnotist was a bore. Pianist was great. Too much of the violin/accordion trio.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Special kudos to Haffner at the Passenger Services desk, who went out of his way to correct errors with the disembarking process and luggage tags.

Pros: Good mix of shore-days and sea days. Loved the 'quiet' area near the spa.

Cons: Being expected to pay for bottled water! Major turn-off! :-( Also, spa staff much too pushy about product sales.
