amazing experience

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

The ship is beautiful, if a bit dated. The few things gone awry...the twin bed becomes a queen separated each night, should have been saddled with a 'queenmaker' to stop this...finding wine glasses for our room was difficult, and could have been a daily staple. We also knew much about the sea conditions, but no reminder of date, day of week, actual time on ship - just paper reminders to change the watch one way or another - the coffee is not good, which is a puzzle to me, since we were in South America and Caribbean ... and no flavored creamers, what century is this? The ports of call were exciting and lovely to visit. The zipline excursion needed tutorials, easy to do on ship...

Pros: I loved the stateroom balcony the most

Cons: the bed was a queen made from 2 twins and separated when used...not cool at all

Recommends Island Princess? Yes!

Ship Quality
needs update
Food and Dining
method of tipping is confusing, we were told we had pre paid tipping, and then we were asked to tip, and charged daily tips...the crew do not have motivation to please if they already know their tip...
Cabin / Stateroom
stem ware should be included, calendar for days of week, and time changes, etc. on one of the 'cruise channels'
Service and Staff
hard to be motivated to outperform, when tips are prepaid...
Entertainment
no photos of our zipline excursion, much needed, and tutorials for zipline activities could be and should be incorporated on the ship
Children's Programs
not many children on this particular cruise, all were obviously busy with their activities and not a problem regarding behavior, etc. for the elder passengers...
