Review summary
Took this cruise to the Panama Canal in January 2011. We had a handicapped room with a balcony. This was our first splurge to get a balcony and it was well worth the money. The balcony was a good size and very relaxing when you are on it. I don't think we will go any other way anymore. We got spoiled on this cruise. The room was enormous for a cruise ship.much larger than any other cruiseline. It had everything we needed. As far as the service, the room steward was hardly ever seen but the room was always clean. It was very easy to maneuver around the ship. The food and drinks were good. The entertainment was not as good as most of the other ships that we went on. There were some repeats of a couple of the shows and the quality of the shows I would give a 5 on a scale of 1-10. Not impressive at all. The pool area was very quiet for the most part. I did not like them showing movies at the pool. I don't think that is a place to be showing movies. There should be more entertainment around the pool. The santuary is so quiet and boring and the pool was too deep. It is a good place if you like to read. There was nothing else much going on in there except the Milk and Cookies girl going around. On the whole, it was a very relaxing trip but it lacked entertainment. A little too quiet for us. There were mostly baby boomers on this ship and not too many kids which was why it was so quiet especially at this time of year The ports were all very nice and the excursions were all great. Trip around Cartegena by bus was good, , Banana Plantation and jungle cruise in Costa Rica was great, bus trip to Dunns Falls was also great in Jamaica. All in all a very enjoyable trip. Everyone should do this one.Ship experiences
