Review summary
We sailed on the Island Princess for 14 days from Los Angeles to 5 ports in the Hawaiin Islands and back to LA. The ship is beautiful and so clean and easy to get around. We enjoyed the entertainment and they were timed perfectly so that we could enjoy a show before dinner and a different show after dinner. Our dining room wait staff couldn't have been more accomodating and friendly. After our first night at dinner they knew our likes and dislikes and carried it throughout the cruise. They also entertained us with magic one night! Our cabin steward was amazing! Everytime we left our cabin he checked our room and got it in order again. We chose late seating for dinner and also ate in the other dining room for several lunches and we weren't disappointed at any time. The twenty four hour buffet in the Horizon Court was always full and clean and delicious. We did have to pay for soft serve ice cream on this cruise and had not had to pay on other cruises in the past. The order of the ports in the islands was great. We went from small towns to the big city of Honolulu then to the beauty of Kaua'i. It was perfect. The days at sea were terrific because there was always something to do if you wanted to be entertained yet there was solitude and peace to read a book if that's what you wanted to do. There was always music no matter where you were on the ship and the musicians were excellent. We wouldn't hesitate to cruise on a Princess ship again but would probably make it from a port we could drive to so that we don't have to go through the unorganized transfer situation at the airport and seaport. All in all, we had a wonderful, memorable cruise!Pros: Beautiful ship & terrific food;great entertainment;dining room wait staff cabin steward outstanding
