Review summary

Had a great cruise despite some service issues and gross food/poor drink selection. We bought the beverage package but quickly discovered the majority of alcohol brands they advertised were not available. Was told they were only serving limited alcohol selections. Food quality gross except for specialty restaurants. Ship but as also not maintained well. Junior suite was spacious. While we had a great time we both felt royal has gone downhill compared to carnival or NCL. If you book a Royal cruise go for the newer ships as that is where they are putting the money and better staff,etc. the ice show was great. Grease was hilariously bad. The actors were miscast and not good. I was entertained for the wrong reasons.

To the dork that said this review is not accurate you’re just silly. Got off today and had a great time but sorry food was meh. You’re also not a seasoned cruiser as Carnival Mardis Gras is spectacular and Alchemy and Carnival Steakhouse put this one to shame.

At least you were still entertained! I agree with the food quality though - when I started cruising the food was one of the highlights, but now it's nothing special. I've cruised on Royal, Carnival, and Holland America within the last decade and none of the food compares to what I had onboard in the early 2000s.

Thanks for the review. Cruising is not the same as it was prior to Covid and the food quality and service has gone down on all lines. I have taken to Cruises on Carnival since May 1 and the food quality & service was substantially below what it was in the past.
