Food and Dining
Izumi
The best part of the meal, by far, was the chef (Glenn). He was witty and had the entire table singing along with him to his corny punny songs. The salad was unremarkable. I ordered a nigiri plate (delicious!). A friend ordered the ramen (thumbs down…ramen at home {SoCal} is way better). The fried rice was extra tasty. I really enjoyed the tenderloin entree but didn’t love the shrimp (my husband disagrees and thought the shrimp was great). Others at our table ordered the NY strip so I got a sample of that (it was terrible compared to the tenderloin). Dessert was matcha ice cream (it was ok).
Wonderland
Great concept but mediocre execution. We tried a lot of dishes, so here’s my rapid fire review:Reconstructed caprese - weird flavors and miniature portionTomato water - not flavorfulCitrus Seas - everyone else liked it but I didn’t Crispy crab cones - tastyThe birds nest - made the entire restaurant smell like smokePurple potted shrimp - yummySnap crackle and pork - pretty goodLiquid lobster - really really goodBranzino - okHalibut - wtf? It’s literally served in a plastic trash bag and they cut the top off tableside then add mushroom soup. It wasn’t good and didn’t belong on the menuDesserts - looked better than they tasted
Chops Grille
I heard a lot of negative reviews beforehand but was pleasantly surprised with Chops. We did lunch and dinner once each. The menu is similar for lunch and for dinner. Lunch:I had the shrimp cocktail (above average but only 4 shrimp…I expected 5), the steak burger (really good!), and a side of the Gruyère tater tots (ok but needed seasoning).Dinner:I had the shrimp cocktail again, the crab cake (tasty), the spicy jumbo shrimp (had some spice and was pretty good), the sautéed mushrooms (good), and the red velvet cake (decent but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get it). Our server (Jorge) was amazing. One of the best servers I’ve encountered at sea. The pretzel rolls were really good on day 3 at lunch but were pretty stale on day 7 at dinner. Didn’t detract from things but it was noticeable.
Sabor
I wanted to like Sabor. I didn’t. The service was great, but the food tasted like what an Asian chef thinks Mexican food is. I’d skip this restaurant next time. I had the fish tacos (they were fine). The rest of our group had meat dishes and were disappointed. The desserts were good - the churros and the chimichangas were tasty and shareable.
Windjammer Marketplace
I found the Windjammer to be similar to Cabanas on DCL and several steps below Celebrity’s or Princess’s buffets. I did like their freshly made waffles (in the back on the buffet) at breakfast.
Boardwalk Dog House
Hot dog was good and the bun was really tasty. My husband had one of the other options (I believe it was a bratwurst or sausage) and he didn’t like it as much.
150 Central Park
Had dinner here the first night. I had the pork belly appetizer (good, not great), the lobster thermador entree (very good!), and the cheese plate for dessert (pretty standard cheese, but tasty). Others in my group got the short rib (they loved it…I didn’t), the halibut (unremarkable), and the lamb Wellington (good). The waiter brought out some extras, the best of which was the fried cheesecake - they’re more like donut holes than cheesecake (very good).

Ship tip
Start a walking/stairs workout program now so you’re prepared to walk (and take stairs) a lot. I took the elevator 4 times total in the week and averaged 40 flights of stairs per day (according to my watch).
