Embarkation

So it was our 1st cruise with the new Covid protocols and everything that RCI had control over with was perfect. However, the covid test in the terminal (ran by an external company for RCI) was very stressful in the end. The test results were supposed to be emailed within 20 mins of taking the test. My partners results were in her inbox before we even sat down in the waiting area. Mine though weren't and we had to wait the full 20 mins before we could ask for assistance. We waited 40 mins in total to be told they missed my test sample and forgot to email my results. I never actually received an email at all for the entry test. The stress was intense and the whole process which had been smooth and easy up until that last step, was let down.
As mentioned in the title there were only around 1200-1300 guests on board so everything else was quick and easy and all our rooms were ready to go from the moment we got on which was a nice surprise.

Food and Dining

I mean it's an Oasis class ship so the food was top notch and the drinks were just unstoppable. With it being so quiet on the ship you had the full attention of at least 3 staff at all times. Only time I wasn't increasing my alcohol tolerance or getting dehydrated was when I was asleep.

Never been anywhere like this. The waitress took the wheel and picked all our starters (which I HIGHLY recommend) and we chose our main. Awesome experience and delicious food.
Chops Grille

Been to chops before but with the physical distancing on this cruise our meal was not only spectacular it felt intimate, like we were VIP's.
Onboard Activities

Everything was as usual with the exception of the games that would have guests up on stage, like Mr & Mrs and the crazy game thing that is usually held in Studio B. I really can't complain. We were never bored.

The staff were happy to be back I think. Most of who I spoke to hadn't had any work over the Covid period so were super keen to be back on board.

I've always said that cruises are provably the cleanest places on earth due to how much drama can result from an unwanted virus but now it's even cleaner. Watched one lady keep an eye on the stairs near the rising tide bar and the schooner bar. When she spotted someone using the railing, she'd wait a few mins till the guest was gone from sight and then she'd walk up and down with a purel wipe.
Cabin / Stateroom

Our first cabin was next to someone who (I'm not sure but pretty convinced) liked to run the shower all night long as a sleep aid. It was hard to fall asleep with the noise and woke me up at like 5.30am both nights we stayed in that room.
I went down on the 3rd morning to ask if someone could go investigate and instead we were upgraded to a interior balcony which was nice.
Oasis class rooms are amazing regardless the type.
Ship tip
Don't keep going to the same bar/restaurant. There are so many places to enjoy and they are all amazing. It's easy to get stuck going to the same amazing places.
Great port but terrible for a cruise stop as its far to big to enjoy in a day. If your cruise leaves from there go at least 1 day earlier so you can see and experience a bit more of what Barca has to offer.
