Review summary

Overall, I was very pleased with this cruise. While on the cruise, I booked 3 more with ship's Nextcruise staff. Carlos was very helpful there and, I got a free bottle of cheap champagne for booking the first day of the cruise. We did have 2 medical emergencies which was very unusual for a cruise. One happened at the beginning and the other happened at our last port call - St. Kitts. The ship doesn't have all the bangs and whistles the bigger ships have but, it's still a nice ship. I'll be sorry to see it leave Baltimore next year.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
This went very smoothly and, I was on the ship within 30 minutes of arriving at the terminal.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
I only ate in the Windjammer Café. I felt the food was good but, they repeated some of the dishes which got tiring. Drink wise, I used my Diamond Plus benefits and enjoyed the Diamond Lounge every night. They did a great job.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
I used the fitness center a number of times. I wasn't amused that some of the aerobicycles weren't in full working order i.e. 2 of the machines couldn't take your pulse.

Guest Services and Explorations!

5 out of 5

I was very pleased with Guest Services. They were very prompt in helping me with any problems. At one point, the air conditioning decided to act up in my cabin. It got up to 82 degrees. I spoke with them in the morning and when I returned to my cabin that evening, it was fixed.

Logo Souvenir Shop

5 out of 5

I found the sales lady very helpful and, she made sure I got my discount for being Diamond Plus, I do wish they had a water bottle saying cruise king as I'd like to get one of those.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
I did enjoy the ship's musicians. There was a 2 lady duo (violin and guitar) who were very good as well as a Phlippino group that were very good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Felt the service was excellent from the start of the cruise to the end of it. My room steward Gorge Colindres did a fine job of keeping my cabin immaculate.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I feel they did a good job of maintaining the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I had an inner cabin on the 8th deck. It was nice inner cabin. I preferred to spend my money on tours and stuff then on the cabin.

Ship tip

One of the biggest plusses of Grandeur is that it sails out of Baltimore. I live in Jessup, Maryland and this makes it super convenient and easy.

Ports of call

Frederiksted, St. Croix, U.S.V.I. Did not visit port

We had a medical emergency and had to deviate to Charleston, South Carolina so, they could offload the person there.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
This went very smoothly though I was lucky to be in group 3 so, I didn't have to wait long to get off the ship.
