Review summary

Rough seas made for a very rough ride. Even veteran cruisers were getting sea sick. If you're prone to sea sickness go on a bigger ship and don't cruise in September!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Super quick and easy. Don't come too early for parking though as they'll turn you away.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining food was spectacular. Although portions were a mess, some dishes had an over abundance of food while others we ordered had minuscule portions. Ex: steak came with a large portion of meat, potatoes, and 2 veggies. While the cheese tortellini came with 5 small tortellini ... Buffett was okay. There was always an abundance of choices. Food wasn't amazing but it wasn't horrible either.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
2 pools, one outdoor one indoor. 6 hot tubs, 4 outdoor, 2 indoor. Always kept clean.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Eh, there isn't much to brag about here. Not a whole lot of entertainment. Some shows were good, most were just okay. Couches uncomfortable for long shows.

Service and Staff

AMAZING!

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Size and cleanliness were great. I wouldn't recommend being this far forward for rough water though. I couldn't even go to my cabin when the seas got bad as the sea sickness was horrid there.

Ship tip

It's a small ship, not a whole lot to do. But the staff are amazing.

I usually arrive at the terminal around 10:30 a.m. and never got turned away. What time did you arrive such that you were turned away?

Believe me I had my sea bands on before we even checked in and dramamine was taken before we left port and every single morning from there on out. Sadly, neither helped :(

Always bring sea bands for acupressure against seasickness. They work great.

We started taking dramamine before we left port. We followed Humberto to Bermuda on the Grandeur. We were never sick.

Rough seas can occur at any time of year and can affect any shape regardless of the size. It’s always a good idea to have a seasickness remedy available.

Glad that the roughness of! the sea will not keep you from cruising again!
