Review summary

The Royal Caribbean brand is not well represented with this ship, the customer experience was far from Royal. We had sewage water gushing from the wall in our state room bathroom, the staff handled the situation like it occurred before and not alarming or a big deal. The staff that attended to the crisis tracked sewage water throughout the ship. Guest services was rude, had no empathy, did not represent the company well, and unwilling to appropriately provide good guest services. After several meetings with management the best that they could offer is on board spending, that was not worth our health. Do yourself a favor and find a better cruise line. #Why Disney Is Better Than Royal Caribbean.

Staff and supervisors are not well trained, when it comes health and safety regarding sewage water and not tracking it all over the ships carpet.

Ship tip

My family spent 5 days in a health hazardous room with a sewage smell room, and chemical smell. After there was sewage water gushing from the bathroom wall under the toilet, the alternative that was provided for my family was to separate my wife, two young children in different rooms.

We loved the grandeur and will sail on her again. We found the opposite with the staff. They couldn’t do enough for you. My favorite ship so far. Will be on liberty soon.

I regularly cruise with Royal Caribbean but I feel this ship needs to go. Very bad experience in March.

Our head waiter on the Grandeur was the worst we've ever had. When we were at the airport waiting to fly home we saw him there also waiting to fly home. I guess the poor service we experienced was because his heart just wasn't in it anymore. Quite disappointing.

So sorry about your experience! Do you mind me asking which room number? I sail in a couple of weeks.

Doesn't sound like Royal handled themselves appropriately.

We had a wonderful time onboard the Grandeur. For sure she is an older ship and cannot compete with Oasis class ships but that’s not the goal. It’s more of a laid back cruise than a party or activity cruise. We also had a problem in our stateroom. But we reported that to our cabin steward and it was fixed at the same day. The staff was absolutely amazing. Always helpful and everyone with a big smile. The food was gorgeous. Even at the windjammer for dinner. We loved it.
