Review summary

We spent 5 days without a care... a very welcomed experience. Overall, we enjoyed our cruise very much, but we were surprised by some gaps. The meal presentation was lovely, but we were surprised and disappointed with the quality of the food. There was tremendous talent on the ship although, again surprisingly, there were a couple of performers (cruise band) that were not very good.

Except that we were pretty lost onboard on the first day - as we had not received the Princess Patter.

Unfortunately, the food was a bit disappointing with some exceptions.

Entertainment, some shopping, Spanish class with Tavo, the two wine tasting events - which we found very enjoyable.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Most of the staff were wonderful. Those who especially stand out: Mario, Head Waiter at DaVinci's Incredibly conscientious, and his customer service skills are impeccable. We never got the feeling he performed to get good reviews. He genuinely is dedicated. Sachin, International Cafe Sachin also demonstrated great character, heart, and service. On Formal Night, I experienced a medical issue (severely low blood sugar), so I approached the counter to find something I could eat that would help. Sachin's response was immediate. He sought out what was needed, and brought it to me with some water. While helping me, he did not lose sight of his responsibilities to other patrons. When I eventually got up to leave, Sachin checked in with me from afar to confirm I was alright. I didn't get his name that night, but I wanted to thank him and to share this about him. I looked for him (it's hard to distinguish who is who with the uniforms and masks) until I finally identified who he was on our last day. Thank you again, Sachin. Yalsem, Head Waiter at DaVinci's We didn't have any interaction with him, but we were very uncomfortable with the fact that he continually removed his mask to talk, laugh, and perform other activities. We saw this every day - even after the ship's captain announced more stringent use of masks. At one point, we saw him preparing a table for a patron he was about to escort in. Without a mask, he leaned over her food while talking and laughing. He then put the mask on to bring her to the table and food he prepared for her maskless.

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin #P-230 We enjoyed the cabin. However, it was quite small. Also, one lamp/charging base was unusable.

Ship tip

Be sure to get the printed Princess Patter on Day 1. Also, get a lay of the land (so to speak) and know what levels you need to use to access opposite sides of the ship.

Ports of call

We only used it to park our car.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

We enjoyed our excursion "Cabo by Land and Sea" but we and another younger couple almost got lost and couldn't find the bus to return. The tour guide needs to use a system to prevent that from happening.
