Great cruise.

Sail Date: December 08, 2010

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

The Golden had been recently renovated. The ship is absolutely beautiful. It was a full sailing and yet we were not constantly in big jam ups. the Piazza was a beautiful central location with great entertainment through out the day and evening.

Pros: Beautiful ship with a lot of amenities.

Cons: anytime dining

Recommends Golden Princess? Yes!

Food and Dining
The dining was a huge disappointment in that we had opted for anytime dining which meant even though we would call right a 8 am all we were given for choice was 5 or 5:30. the selection of food was not good at all. We ended up going to the horizon grill where the food was far superior to the dining room unlike our past cruising experience.
Ship Quality
Cabin / Stateroom
The stateroom was very adequate. Unfortunately we did have some smokers around who felt they needed to smoke in their rooms and balconies.
Service and Staff
Excellent with the exception of the dining room on the few occasions we tried it.
Entertainment
The entertainment was great. A lot of variety and at all times of the day.
Nawiliwili, Kauai
We rented car and travelled the whole island. The weather was great even in the north. The view at the grand canyon was spectacular
Don't Miss: The grand canyon.
Ensenada, Mexico
Would have been happier not to stop.
Lahaina, Maui
We again rented a car and did aquick tour. The island is too big to see very much in the short time we were there.
Honolulu, Oahu
Had agreat day in Waikiki. The portside shops were neat as well.
Hilo, Hawaii
The black sand beach as very intriguing.
