Review summary

Our favorite take-away from the adventure of a cruise is visiting with other cultures. We have an opportunity to explore the diversity of our planet from meeting others whether guest or staff. A cruise is all about expanding your horizon and Royal Caribbean does this very well in itinerary and accommodations.

Our Cabin was definitely an enjoyable upgrade. Sitting on the balcony morning or evening the movement of the ship through the gulf waters was pleasant and calming. Though we didn't experience a storm front the balcony entrance was solid and kept out any noise while shut

Ship tip

Prepare for the wait through boarding, customs and check in. It can seem like hours and that is something that could be better addressed in the port of Ft. Lauderdale

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

We arrived at Port Everglades for our FOS sailing at 1:30PM. We walked directly on the ship with no delays or crowds. Moral of the story....don't show up at 10AM....you WILL have hours to wait. Our stateroom was ready and we departed on time at 4:30PM.

Please share the details of your embarkation experience. What time did you arrive at Port? How long did you have to wait for the boarding process to begin? How long did it take you from boarding start to go through check in and get your access cards? Diid you complete online booking and health forms in advance? These details are important because, for example, if you get to the port too early, your wait time is going to include time before the boarding process actually starts. Separating that time from the "port arrival to on the ship" processing time is very meaningful and helpful for those of us who are looking forward to cruising from that port. On one occasion, our family did arrive at a cruise port before 10AM and basically we sat until the onboarding process started. So that was wait time but we don't count that against the cruise line since early arrival at the port was our scheduling choice.
