Really let down on this cruise.. rude staff, terrible food, awful entertainment

Had a disappointing cruise as far as the ship goes. Did Baltic itinerary so the ports did make up for a lot of the ship shortcomings. The ship is due for a refit and desperately needs it. Staff are wonderful as always. Food in the MDR gets very repetitive and lacks flavour, not sure how they manage to make curry without using any spice. Entertainment was poor. With the exception of Frankie and the Dreamers and several comedians which we have seen before the theatre acts were not good, have never walked out of so many shows on a cruise. Ice show was great but only got one and no choice of which show to see, you get a time allocated according to your muster station. The sunbeds need to be put in a skip, some of them were disgusting. Saving grace on this ship for us was the diamond lounge and Dizzys. Would love to do another Baltic cruise, but in common with so many people we talked to will not be returning to this ship.

First impression was the ship looked tired but with the staff on board, food and drink it turned into a great cruise and we have booked the same ship again for September

The cruise was excellent with amazing places to visit. The ship and crew were first class.

This is a fantastic positive ship. Great experience and fantastic ports. So good we are booked to go on this ship again in October!

The cruise was brilliant, would have liked more entertainment especially I as travelled with a young baby and not much to do with him on board. But overall it was a good cruise.

would most certainly do this cruise again and if anyone gets the chance i would say do it

Had the best time! While the ship is on the older side, it has some fantastic amenities (promenade, flow rider, mini golf to name a few) and will only get better after its renovation next year. We did the Baltics and it was the most fantastic itinerary! Highly recommend the Explorer to the Baltics!

Overall very enjoyable. Lots of announcements and continuous hard sell. Also more and more privelige being shown. Elitism gone made.

We are ‘serial cruises’ with many different cruise lines over the last 25 years. On the whole Royal Caribbean suits us best. However although the ports of call were all good, the food and entertainment did did match our expectations of what we have come to expect from Royal Caribbean.

Really enjoyed this cruise- would recommend to friends- lots to do and see, the sights of mountains waterfalls and snow are unbelievable

Great stay and the drinks package made the holiday - Overall very good and I will probrably book another stay with RC.

This was my 5th RC cruise. I love the company and ships. I wasn’t overly impressed with our itinerary but decided to do a local cheaper cruise rather that a Carribean cruise and stay. Weather wasn’t great. Cloudy and cold wind.

Not as good as previous trips. Decided not to book another yet. May try other cruise companies first

Great holiday had by all the grandchildren loved it as did we cant wait for our next cruise

This cruise was fantastic! The ports and excursions were excellent! The excursion to Versailles was monumental! The food was great especially Chops Grille and Giovanni’s table. However, I really didn’t need the refreshment package as I drank mostly in the Windjammer.

I am currently on the explorer of the seas and have been very impressed with the service we have received all the staff have been brilliant, a fantastic night in the casino looking forward to the cruise next year which I booked while on board

Nice break but quality of cruise has dropped dramitically. Dissapointing and they are charging so much more.

Enjoyed our 10 days on Explorer of the Seas but disappointed with the finer details: cleanliness, timings of entertainment, quality of restaurant food & consistency of service. Very disappointed that in 10 days we only managed to get into Dizzys once as it appeared to be permanently reserved for diamond members.

Ship can use an upgrade, big cleaning, paintjob etc. Staff was super nice, helpfull. Entertainment could have been better. Really liked the zumba classe and the ice show. The pub on the promenade is a nice place to spend some time and have a drink. Food delicious and fresh and a lot of variation imo
