Review summary

Overall, as I stated in the title, this vacation did what we asked of it. Relax. Having only cruised on Carnival Cruises in the past, we definitely noticed the difference in aura, or lack thereof. If we had family with us we would've been sorely disappointed, but because we really just wanted to get away and be lazy, this cruise accomplished that. The food was a disappointment though. Thank goodness we had a great table of people so dining was not terrible. I was sad to see that the crew did not seem to be very out-of-their-way friendly as I have experienced on other cruises. Even in passing, most times they did not smile. Hopefully they get a break to rejuvenate like we did. Anyway, we got away, we were able to be lazy, we got to spend time in our favorite city and the price wasn't too bad. We will try The Royal Caribbean again in hopes that this one was just a fluke.

Ship tip

If you've cruised before, don't expect too much on this cruise. Although we did hear that she was scheduled for dry docking. She definitely needs a makeover and seems like the crew needs a vacation.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

5 out of 5
We loved being able to cruise from home. Skipping the air travel definitely made this cruise a more relaxing one which is exactly what we wanted.

Astoria, Oregon

3 out of 5
Although we stayed on the ship during this port, Astoria is a cute nostalgic city to visit. We'd already been there multiple times so decided to experience what it feels like to stay on board while in port.

San Francisco, California

5 out of 5
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE SAN FRAN! This port, as well as having the chance to stay in port for 2 days, was the deciding factor in choosing this particular cruise.

Victoria, British Columbia

5 out of 5
We love Victoria. And the weather was on our side. Too bad it was such a short time there though.

Disembarkation

We really liked how organized it was. Being able to choose our time made it nice to end our vacation on a good note.
